"Sorry I'm late," He said, and Sophie noticed he was holding a big, golden gift-bag in his hand. "I was working on a project that is due in five minutes."
"Well, at least you made it," Fitz had also decided to stay behind for Sophie's birthday and head back afterwards.
The only people that weren't there were Tam and Linh because they had to get back to school and finish their work.
"Yep," Keefe held up the gift. "Where do I put this?"
"I'll take it," Edaline said, walking over and taking the gift before disappearing into the kitchen.
"So, what do you guys want to do?" Jensi asked getting excited.
"We could play Truth or Da—?"
Grady cut Biana off by saying, "I don't think we need to do that. It's birthday present time, so you guys won't have time to play Truth or Dare."
"He just didn't want me to dare Keefe to kiss you," Biana mumbled to Sophie as they all walked into the living room. "But I will succeed before this party is over."
That made Sophie's face become a bright shade of pink as she sat down, hoping no one would notice.
Edaline brought out tons of gifts and placed them on the coffee table in front of Sophie. "Which do you want to open first?"
"Which one's from you and Grady?" She asked, looking at all the presents.
"That one," Edaline pointed to a purple gift bag.
Sophie grabbed the bag and took out the tissue paper, reaching inside and pulling out the gift. It was a new pair of converses.
Sophie's face morphed into the biggest smile ever. They were black since her other's were slowly falling apart—and they were high-top.
"These are awesome," Sophie said, smiling at her parents and then looking back to the shoes. "Thank you!"
Grady and Edaline both grinned at Sophie before a pink-wrapped gift was pushed in front of her face.
"Mine next," Biana said with a smile.
Sophie laughed as she ripped off the wrapping paper, opened the box, and pulled out what was inside of it.
"That's a lot of hoodies," Sophie said, pulling out six hoodies. Each one was a different color of the rainbow.
"You need to grow your collection," Biana said with a grin. "You only have two and they're Black and icy-blue. All you need now is grey and pink."
"What about brown?" Dex asked.
"No one wants to wear the color brown," Biana said. "Anyway, I hope you like it."
"I do," Sophie said with a grin. She'd always loved wearing hoodies, and these were so soft and comfy feeling. "Thanks,"
"Okay, mines next," Fitz pointed to the gift wrapped in green. "I thought you might want it since you'll be going to college soon."
Sophie smiled as she opened the gift and found a beautiful, sleek laptop with a purple lid. "It's beautiful," Sophie said. "Thank you so much,"
Fitz smiled. "I'm glad you like it."
The next few gifts got unwrapped within ten minutes. Jensi had gotten Sophie a ton of scented stickers, Maruca had gotten her some perfume, and Dex had gotten her tons of snacks and a new phone case.
"And last, but not least," Keefe said, nudging his gift towards her. "Open mine!"
Sophie smiled as she reached in the bag and pulled out the gift. It was a giant kit filled with tons of different sidewalk-chalks.
"Woah," Sophie stared at it. "This is so cool,"
"Are you sure you like it?" Keefe asked, biting his lip. "Because I wasn't sure—"
"It's awesome," Sophie said, stopping him. "Thank you,"
It was quiet, the two of them just smiling at each other, before Grady said, "Well, that was a wonderful party! Isn't it about time everyone started to head out?"
Everyone mumbled that it was about time to go and started cleaning up the area. When they were all done, Sophie made sure to see her friends out to their cars.
"You're officially eighteen," Keefe said with smile. "We're both legal adults now."
Sophie's heart exploded with joy and fluttery things. She was starting to get really excited. After all this waiting and time, were they about to be together?
"That we are," Sophie smiled back at Keefe. "You know what that means, right?"
Keefe's smile turned into a sly smirk. "I'd like to think I do."
Sophie grinned, not being able to hold in her excitement anymore, and grabbed the collar of the hoodie he was wearing, slowly bringing him down to her level.
Keefe seemed a little red in the face from shock, but all he did was smirk and say, "Happy birthday Foster."
Sophie smiled before wrapping her arms around his neck and pulling him into a kiss. It took no time at all for Keefe to kiss her back, and the feeling was indescribable.
When they pulled away a bit later, both faces pink with blush, Sophie heard someone cheering. When the two of them turned around, Biana was grinning and recording them from her car.
Sophie laughed. "Happy birthday to me."
