His stomach dropped. That panic from early returned, only worst this time.

"Tubbo," He speaks his name with a demand—why is the compass broken.

"It was an accident," he sobbed, "I didn't mean to—I was just—I was just so frustrated at everything."

Slowly Tubbo opened the desk draw and pulled the cracked and dulled compass. He set it on the table and Dream moved forward, plucking it up. He started at the cracked glass, at the unmoving red arrow.

Dream heaved a sigh, closing his eyes as his shoulders slumped.

Tubbo hiccuped again and Dream gently set the compass back onto the desk, sliding it to Tubbo who clutched it to his chest.

"I didn't mean to," he repeated timidly, shoulders scrunched up to his ears.

Sometimes Dream forgets just how young Tubbo and Tommy are.

Running a hand through his hair, Dream speaks again, "I'm going to head out and see if I can find any tracks but winter's approaching quickly. I don't know if Tommy has anything to prepare for it."

Tubbo nodded, sniffling, "Thank you."

Dream turned to leave but paused, "You need to speak to Phil."

Tubbo paled, fear flickering onto his face, "Dr—Dream, please don't, please don't make me—I can't face him. Not when—not with what just happened with Technoblade."

Dream pursed his lips, "I don't have the time, Tubbo, you need to do this."

Then he left, he needed to prepare but—maybe Technoblade was the best place to start. Tommy and Technoblade were brothers after all.

If Dream knew where Wilbur was, he would go to him first since Tommy and Wilbur seemed closer than to their pink-haired sibling but Wilbur was MIA and would be of no help.

Dream wanted to groan. He had no idea where to start.

Tubbo fidgeted on his feet, longing to just turn on his heels and walk away from the house Philza had been boarded up in for his house arrest.

Swallowing, Tubbo took a breath and raised a fist to knock when the door opened. Startled, Tubbo sucked in a breath when he met Philza's even but cold gaze.

"Tubbo," Philza greeted cooly.

"I...I need to speak to you."

"And what exactly do you need to speak to me about?"

"It's about—it's about Tommy."

At his youngest son's name, Philza expression sharpened, brows furrowing in concern and confusion. After a long beat, Philza stepped aside to let Tubbo inside the house.

"What about Tommy?" Philza questions once he closed the door.

"Dream just," Tubbo rubbed his arm nervously, "Dream came rushing back from Logstedshire saying Tommy's missing. He doesn't—he doesn't know where he went."

Philza began to pace back and forth, biting his lip, "How long?"

"Dream wasn't sure, a few days? A week? He hadn't visited in two weeks, so maybe as soon as Dream left last time? I—We—Dream wasn't sure."

"Wasn't sure," Philza echos, voice void of any affliction.

Tubbo swallowed.

"Wasn't sure," anger suddenly tugged at his brows as he bared his teeth, wings ruffling harshly, voice raising loudly as he demanded: "How can he be wasn't sure!"

Tubbo flinched, stepping away from Philza.

"For fuck's sake," Philza hisses under his breath, turning his back to Tubbo. For a long moment, they stand in silence, Tubbo afraid to utter a word in fear of Philza turning his anger onto him. He had seen the man angry only once before. A long time ago when he had been a child. He vowed to himself to never see it again. It had given him nightmares and the anger hadn't even been aimed at him.

"Get out," Philza's voice is a whisper, growing louder, "Get out!"

Tubbo fled, eyes burning with fresh tears.

Philza barely held back a sob, clutching at the wooden beam beside him as he choked for breath. His other hand grasped at his shirt above his heart, feeling the way it pounded.

Tommy.

He fell to the floor, gasping for breath. His wings quivered as he desperately tried to keep ahold of his emotions. Now wasn't the time to be crying. Not when Tommy was out there, possibly hurt and injured with winter approaching.

Techno—he needed to tell Techno. Techno could search for Tommy, he was the best hunter around. If anyone could do it, it was Techno.
