Chapter Nineteen

~3rd POV~

Quentin watched as his bodyguards took Elissa out of the ballroom. He noticed some of the guests looks and knew he had to come up with something. But then again, he was at pureblood status now so they would have to forget if he told them to right?

He walked away from the stairs and made his rounds to some of his followers and other guests. He noticed Zero by one of the balcony entrances, and Quentin smirked at him as Zero made eye contact with him. Quentin made a 'tick tock' gesture with his wrist before making his way up the staircase. He got everyone's attention to begin a farewell speech.

"This evening has truly been fantastic. I want to thank everyone who has joined us here for coming out tonight. I also want to thank my cousins for joining us too, there's nothing truly better than having a party with family. Unfortunately I have to leave now, so this is goodbye for now. I hope to see each and everyone of you again soon. Good evening everyone." He said and waved as they bowed.

He walked up the stairs and walked outside, "Quentin!" He heard a feminine voice he recognised so quickly. He smirked looking back at her.

"Dear Yuuki, why isn't your brother and boyfriend attached to your side? It's dangerous to be around me don't you know?" He snickered and Yuuki narrowed her eyes.

"I want to talk with you." She told him and one of his eyebrows lifted in curiosity.

"Alright, you have my attention. Let's take a walk shall we?" He asked extending his arm as she took his arm carefully. "You're wise to be on alert, but you have my word I will not harm you. It wouldn't go well with your sister."

The two started to aimlessly walk together, she was glad she picked her coat up. "You said you wanted to talk, now talk." He told her getting impatient as she had said nothing to him since they started walking.

She took a breathe in and started talking, "I wanted to talk to you about Elissa." She explained and he chuckled.

"If you're going to try and plead me to give her to Kaname you're going to be disappointed." He stated and she sighed shaking her head.

"Not quite... I'm here to make an offer. Kaname and Zero, not even Ichijo have no idea I'm here doing this. They'd probably kill me if they knew.. But what would you say to a trade? Give Elissa back to Kaname and I'll go with you. Willingly. No fight, no talking back-" He stopped walking and stood in front of her. He held her head up to him by her chin.

"Let me get this straight. You want me to give Elissa back to Kaname and take you instead?" He questioned her and she nodded.

"I won't put up a fight." She told him and he went quiet for a minute or two. She could tell he was considering it.

"I do adore the way you would give yourself up to me for her sake. But I want to see Kaname suffer, with Elissa taken from him I see that pain in his eyes and on his face. If I took you, that same pain would be on Ichijo's face. See, my fight isn't with you and Ichijo. It's with Kaname. Elissa has an impact on both Kaname and Zero. That's why I took her, and not you."

"But I will go with you willingly. If you agree to this trade you can-"

"No, I won't agree to this." Quentin told her and she scoffed.
