7. On Your Mark

"Wow, that was impressive you guys! Very nice work!" Tzuyu looked around and there was only five of them left. A fourth year girl, the third year Jungkook, two second years, and herself. 

"Alright, hello everyone! I am a current Chaser. If you don't know me already, my name is Wendy and I am a sixth year!" Wendy bows and everyone nods, "Let's see if you guys have the stuff. Mark over here is a beater so the three of us will see how well you all can throw and hit!"

"First, we'll see how well you all throw," Reyna chuckles, "I'm sure you're all tired of bludgers at the moment...so let's see how well you guys can make goals with the quaffle."

"We'll start basic, I guess," Wendy shrugs, "First start off five meters from the main goal, then go back to ten meters, then fifteen, and twenty. Try to make it in all five times."

They go one by one and since Tzuyu is the only first year, she goes last. The fourth year girl makes it in three times, Jungkook makes it in four times, the two second years both make it in only two times, and then it's finally Tzuyu's turn. They hand her the quaffle and she makes it in at five meters. She flies back to ten and she makes it in...she flies back to fifteen and she makes it in. The anticipation that's building up as everyone present watches the first year nonchalantly throw the quaffle through the hoop rises as she goes to twenty. She takes a deep breath, and throws the ball forward and her heart explodes as it goes through. Call it luck or she does she actually have a good arm. 

"Wowie, Chou! That was excellent form too!" Reyna chuckles and Wendy smiles at her. "Now let's do something a little harder...it will now be a free for all! I will throw the quaffle into the air and at least three of you have to get it into the hoop! The other two will be disqualified for trying out as a chaser!"

As soon as she finished her sentence, she threw the ball into the air and dipped with the other two upperclassmen. The fourth year got it first and just as she threw it, Jungkook caught it and threw it in. As soon as it went through, the fourth year zoomed to catch it again and was caught fighting for it with the two second years. Tzuyu watched for a moment to study the situation and noticed that the second years weren't working together, they were just both very against the fourth year. And so when the quaffle popped into the air after they all tried to hit it, Tzuyu swooped in, grabbed it and threw it as hard as she can threw the hoop.

"Nice one, Tzuyu," Jungkook complimented her and Tzuyu nodded and smiled. 

The two watched as the three battled it out for the quaffle, eventually the fourth year got smart and made the other two fly into each other so that she could throw the ball. 

"Alright then," Reyna flew up to them, "We have judged your Chaser potential so now we shall determine if any of you has Beater potential."

"You're going to release the bludgers and we have to hit them away, don't we?" Jungkook asks and Reyna clicks her tongue.

"Yes sir," She chuckles, "Excellent observation. Twist is, you have to hit each other off your brooms. Last two standing become the next Chaser and/or Beater."

They're all given baton-like bats and wait for the bludgers to be released. When they do, they fly first to the second years. Both of them hit it in the fourth year's or Jungkook's direction but they either dodge or hit it back. One of the second years hits it towards Tzuyu but Tzuyu backhands it towards the fourth year who gets knocked out by both the bludger from Tzuyu and the other one. Now it's just them four and they keep hitting it back and forth, back and fourth. The two second years share a very obvious look and that's when Tzuyu and Jungkook decide to do the same thing; team up. The second years both hit bludgers at Tzuyu but not in sync so that it's one at a time. Tzuyu hits both to Jungkook who's ready and hits the bludgers so hard at the two first years that they couldn't react fast enough to hit or dodge. They both fall off their brooms but Tzuyu and Jungkook catch them because they're pretty high up.

"And there we have it! Jungkook and Tzuyu!" Reyna announces, "Thank you everyone for trying out! You two come with me."

"It's quite obvious which one of you is going to be Chaser and which one is Beater," The Captain chuckles as they land in the center of the pitch. "But funnily enough, both of you can be either or...I just want to hear it from both of you, which one did you intend to really try out for."

"Chaser," Tzuyu says immediately and frowns when she realizes how fast she answered.

"Beater," Jungkook smiles at the Captain.

"Ah good!" Reyna chuckles. "First practice is next week, you'll get all your gear and uniforms then. You'll also get fitted at the first practice so don't worry about a thing. Can't wait! Let's do great! I think we'll actually have a winning chance this year with you two!"

"Thank you!" The two bow in unison and they all go their separate ways. Tzuyu sighs but smiles as she sees her friends running towards her.

"TZUUUUUUUYUUUUUUUUU!" Nayeon calls and tackles her in a hug, "My baby is all grown up! And on the Quidditch team! Oh, I hope you don't die!"

"Die?" Chaeyoung squeaks and looks up at Jeongyeon.

"Yeah, there's a chance of that but it rarely happens," Jeongyeon shrugs, "Hasn't happened in years...but getting hurt does happen often."

"Oh my...." Chaeyoung says wide-eyed and everyone laughs. 

"Don't worry, Tzu won't die," Dahyun says confidently, "Look at her! She did amazing today!"

"Yeah you really did, Tzu-Tzu," Sana shoves Nayeon off of Tzuyu with a giggle and hugs the girl.

"What the- Hey!" Nayeon pulls Sana off and the two argue about who gets to give the big sister hugs to Tzuyu. 

"Yeah, you were really cool out there," Mina says smiling, "I could never do Quidditch...I mean, I like games but it can be pretty rough."

"Don't die," Chaeyoung wails as she wraps her arms around Tzuyu's waist. She looked like she was on the verge of tears.

"Sorry, I was telling her some things that have happened in Quidditch..." Jeongyeon chuckles and both Momo and Mina slap her shoulder.

"Heh, don't worry, I'll be alright," Tzuyu chuckles at the sight of all of her friends before looking down at Chaeyoung. "It'll be fun, all part of the adventure, right?"

"Absolutely," Chaeyoung smiles and they laugh as Dahyun sneaks over to join the hug. 

"This year is going to be legendary," Dahyun says and when the others notice the little group hug, they stop what they're doing and join. 

"It's going to be great."
