Perhaps Sakura could surmise that the change could be attributed to Sasuke wanting to protect Team Taka, his new team that he had formed himself, but Sakura already witnessed Sasuke attempting to murder his Taka teammate, so Sasuke's relationship to Taka doesn't seem any better than his relations to Team 7.

Moreover, why the focus on protecting Konoha of all places, when only a couple weeks before that had been the place Sasuke most desired to destroy? Sasuke could choose any location to defend in the world, but he is choosing to protect the same place he declared he hated and had a vendetta against.

There are only three things Sakura knows that Sasuke cared about in Konoha: his clan, Naruto, and herself. So why would Sasuke be there in the war, risking his life for a place he hated, turning his back on his Akatsuki allies, if not for his bonds with Team 7? He could be there for his clan, but they are already all dead, so even if Sasuke wins the war that won't change. Actually, Sasuke's only living clanmates are on the opposing side, so Sasuke is actually going against his own people by joining the Allied Shinobi forces. Besides, Sasuke had earlier stated that his clan's interests were best served by Konoha's destruction, not it's salvation. So what triggered the change of heart? By process of elimination, only she and Naruto are left as things that would motivate Sasuke to protect Konoha.
