My eyes quickly scan the yard hoping to meet eyes with who I know for a fact is my mate. I could feel my wolf inside me going insane as I looked around. They finally stopped and settled at the other side of the yar...

Maya's POV
After talking with Angie last night, I felt a lot better waking up this morning to a text from Jason. I was surprised at how early it was, almost 6am. Usually I'm not up for another four hours, but I woke up with ease, and I felt rested.
In my still wakening state, I typed in my password and opened his message expecting a thanks of some sort for the happy birthday I sent a little after midnight.
I jolted out of bed when I focused on the actual text I got. It was from Jason, and it wasn't exactly a text, but a notification that he had sent me his current location which was sent only five minutes ago. He was in Alice, Tx.
I rush out of my room and burst into Angie and Daniel's, the two of them waking up at the sudden bang of the door slamming against the wall.
"What the fuck Maya!" Angie screams as she clutches her hand to her chest.
"HE'S HERE!" I scream.
"Who is fucking here!" Daniel yells, immediately standing up and making his way to me. Actual fear and anger in his eyes.
"No no no! Not him" I rush out, realizing what I said could definitely be taken another way... oops.
Daniel visibly relaxes and looks back at Angie.
"Wait he? As in Jason?" She says throwing the blanket off her legs.
"What the fuck is going ooooon" a very sleepy Tyler trudges into the room with a death glare on all of us.
"Why is Jason here?" Daniel asks confused.
"Who the hell is Jason?" Tyler asks.
"Oh my god oh my god!" Angie says making her way to me. Where is he!" She asks, completely ignoring Tyler and Daniel's questions.
"He sent me his location five minutes ago!"
"Maya it is 6am!" Tyler seethes.
"Shut up!" Angie and I both hiss.
"What the fuck is happening." Daniel asks in a groan, rubbing the sleep from his eyes.
"Okay okay okay." I say taking deep breaths, but my heart is basically jumping out of my chest. "Jason is here, in Alice, to see me!"
"Why?" Tyler asks.
"Is everything okay out here..." another voice says. Leah comes shuffling in behind Tyler looking just as tired as them.
"No! Everything is not okay! What if he isn't my mate!" At the realization of what's happening, Tyler's face softens, as does Daniel's.
"His birthday is today, right." Daniel confirms.
"Maya" Angie says grabbing my shoulders and making me face her. Her calmness eases me ever so slightly, but it still doesn't stop the heavy thudding in my chest.
"It's going to be fine. Whatever happens." She says rubbing my forearms. I take a deep breath and nod.
All five of us whip our heads around towards the front door at the faint sound of car wheels on the rocks.
"Fuuuuuck" I wince.
"Why are you all up?" Lilith's voice calls out. She appears behind the small crowd I've attracted between the hallway and Angie's bedroom door.
Before anyone could respond, I feel a drop in my chest. Like my heart literally flipped out of my chest and onto the ground... but in a good way?
"Oh my god." I say. Tears immediately brimming my eyes as I push passed everyone and head for the door.
When I swing it open the most relaxing, breathtaking scent surrounds me. Jason barley parked and exited his car before I was halfway to him. He jogs a few steps to meet me the rest of the way and engulfs me in the most loving hug I've ever experienced. I wrap my legs around his waist and silently cry into his neck. I can't believe I'm fucking crying.
Jason spins me around and hugs me tighter to him.
"Come here. Let me finally kiss you." He says against my shoulder. I pull away from his neck and he immediately presses his lips to mine. Tingles erupt all over my skin, and I sigh happily against his lips.
From behind us I can hear everyone whooping and hollering. Someone whistles, and I faintly hear Anna's small voice say ew.
I cradle his face in my hands and kiss all over his face.
"You're insane. You know that?" I say, resting my forehead on his.
His wide smile brings on a feeling of joy and admiration I don't think I've ever felt before.
"I had to know. Fuck I've waited for this moment since the day I met you." He says softly as he glances down at my lips again. I pull him in for another kiss, which feels just as new and beautiful as the first one. God, would it always feel like this when we kissed?
"Okay that's enough!" Tyler calls.
I hear an oof sound, knowing very well either Angie or Lilith elbowed him. I'll have to remember to thank them later... you know, after I spend the rest of the morning with my mate.

OOP 🥲
I had the realization that when I first wrote about Maya and Angelique's characters, I had no intention of continuing their story. They were just supposed to be side characters in my first book "you make it possible", and look where they are now. Is it weird I have an attachment to my characters? 🤣 I was so happy writing this chapter, both my girls have now found their loves 💕💕
Also, while I have the floor. I wanted to say another big thank you to all my readers! I do want y'all to know I do read all of your comments and appreciate your votes, you guys have no idea how much it means to me!
