Angelique's POV

"Angie, baby wake up please."

"Open your eyes"

"Please wake up please"

The voice that began as a distant echo starts to sound fuller. More real rather than a dream. Was I dreaming? The familiar voice continues to call to me. Sometimes sounding far, sometimes sounding near. I knew it was Daniel's, but it didn't make sense as to how I was hearing his voice.

Every time I tried to speak I'd feel a rawness in my throat that made me cough. When I tried to speak his name again, my eyes flew open. I double over into my stomach and spew the contents of my stomach onto the ground.

"Oh thank god. Angie, it's okay baby. Breathe. Look at me."

I could hear him. Why couldn't I feel him?

More stomach acid bubbles into my throat making me vomit again. It was weird. The more I vomited the more clear my head felt. This was real.

When it stopped. I picked my head up and took in my surroundings.

We were in some sort of room. As I looked around it, my eyes landed on a set of chains. I followed the chains to a set of legs, then-

"Daniel!" I went through another fit of coughing and gagging, but I had nothing left to toss up.

"It's okay. Breathe. Don't speak it's okay." He croaks out.

I lay on my side and look down to see my own feet chained up as well. When I tried to tug against them I felt a burning sensation that made me hiss.

"Don't move too much. They coated the chains with wolfsbane." I hear Daniel say.

I huff a breath and nod, still feeling slightly groggy and weak, but feeling more aware of my surroundings than I had before.

"You. How did you-"

"Ryland found me at the hospital." He says.

When my eyes focus more, I see Daniel laying on his stomach, his hand stretched out towards me. His chain fully extended as if he tried crawling to me at some point.

When I finally focus on his face anger surges through me. His left eye was swollen shut, lip busted. His clothes had dirt all over them and his breath was jagged.

"What did they do to you." I cry.

Daniel shakes his head and laughs bitterly. "Nothing compared to what I expected. Keep talking to me okay? Stay awake."

I do my best to raise my body up from the ground and move closer.

"Angie stay still baby please."

"Shut up" I groan. I crawl to him, despite the burning feeling on my ankle, and almost reach his outstretched hand till the chain locks tighter around me. His finger tips were only inches from mine.

"Daniel." I cry as I reach my hand towards him. He reaches too, but we both fall short.

"I'm sorry Angie. I'm so sorry. I did this to you. To your family-"
