Lilith and Leah were loading up the car for Tyler and Tara to take them to the airport.

Anna was in hysterics because she didn't want her to leave, and we were all doing what we could to keep a brave face to not upset her further.

I approach Leah as she sets her last bag in the backseat, and when she turns to face me she looks slightly embarrassed.

"Angie- I'm sorry. About yesterday." She says with her eyes darting everywhere to not meet mine.

I immediately pull her into a tight embrace, and she surprisingly reciprocates it. "Shut up." I say in her ear. I hear her huff a laugh.

I see Lilith over her shoulder with a grim expression, and even though it wasn't my place, I pulled away and grabbed her shoulders and looked her right in the eyes.

"Come back to us. Okay?" I say.

She looked confused at first, but nodded her head and hugged me again.

When they left, Anna was no longer crying, but it seemed she felt the same sadness we were all feeling. She stayed quiet for most of the morning, barley watching her tv show and picking at her food. Jason and Maya tried to offer to play with her but she just kept saying no.

I hadn't taken the time to think how all this could be affecting Anna. She hadn't seen Kai in almost two weeks, or been home, Lilith keeps leaving. It must all be so confusing for her.

We were currently sitting on the couch mindlessly watching SpongeBob. Anna on my lap, Jason and Maya silently sitting in each other's arms beside us.

"I should probably call my mom." Jason says quietly to Maya.

She nods her head with a soft smile and kisses Jason on the cheek. He stands up and walks out of the cabin leaving the three of us in silence.

"Anna did you want to play a game or something?" I offer, hoping it will help bring her out of her funk.

"I want to nap" she says with a slight edge to her tone. It was only noon, she usually didn't nap till 3. Maya and I share a saddened concerned look before I turn back to Anna.

"Did you want to nap in your bed with cartoons on?" I ask.

Anna nods and hops off of my lap. Maya and I follow her into the room her and Lilith had been sharing, and set up the tv and tuck her in.

Her eyes seemed darker, tired even.

"Did you want us to stay with you?" Maya asks.

Anna only shakes her head and blankly stares at the tv. Maya and I each nod before walking out of the bedroom, only to find a strange man sitting at the table.

"Who the fu-" Maya's shrill voice cuts off when the man uses his wolf speed to run behind her, placing his hand over her mouth and dragging her away. At the same time, a dirty hand locks over my mouth and pulls me from her. We both trash and fight against the hold, but a cold chill of fear runs through me when I notice one of the men pushing a needle into Maya's neck.

She screams against his hand but her body begins to settle.

I hiss when I feel the small pinch in my neck. Suddenly the state I was in felt like a dream. Like no matter how hard I fought, something was weighing me down.

"Now that you've calmed down." One or the men says annoyed. It's then I recognize the one holding Maya from the photo my dad sent to the pack. He was one of the men who did the break ins and killed Marcy. Anger consumes my body, and I try to fight, but once again it feels as if sand bags were tied to my limbs.
