(Y/N) was looking like the most unsuspicious person ever as she leans on the gates of school, face covered with a hoodie, face mask and sunglasses.

She's only done this because she doubts she'd be able to approach the beauty department, not when everyone is calling for her head in a pike.

This way, she was able to 'discreetly' corner Eli as soon as he leaves school.

"What's the hurry?" she asks as the teen bypasses her.

Her voice brought a halt to his steps. Eli glanced at her, recognition flashing in his eyes. "So it really is (Y/N)."

"Of course it is," she rolls her eyes.

"You really bought me for a thousand dollars?" he chuckled. "It was so unexpected."

"I didn't think I'd waste my money on you too. If only I didn't act on impulse, maybe I'd not be broke and be able to live a normal school life without danger looming over my shoulder."

"They're not that bad. I'll talk to them so they stop."

"Talk to them whenever. Don't underestimate a crazy girl."

"I'll remember that." Eli checks his watch. "Can we continue this conversation later? I'm kinda in a hurry."

"Is it private? Can I go with you?"

"Oh." He looks as if he hadn't expected her suggestion. "Yeah, it's okay. I just have to feed Yenna."

"Feed who?"

"My daughter."

"Your—" (Y/N) coughed at the sudden answer. "How? You produce milk with your man boobs?"

"No, (Y/N). I mix the powder with water."

(Y/N)...felt a bit stupid now. Right. Maybe the sunglasses made her temporarily stupid more than usual.

"...I swear I'm not always like this."

"It's okay, I understand." If anything, Eli just looks very amused.

The girl picked up her pace, following after the friend she hasn't seen for a long time. She reaches up to remove the glasses and face mask when they were already a few meters away from school. Because frankly, it was getting kind of stuffy.

She glanced at him again, and despite herself, asked, "Okay, but how did you feed your child when she was a few months old?"

"..."

"Sorry for the intrusion," she says as she removes her shoes.

There was a middle-aged lady waiting for them inside the house. According to Eli when they were on the way, she was a neighbor who was kind enough to offer to watch over the child for the day.

"Oh, a new face," she says with her eyes trained on (Y/N).

"She's a friend," Eli assures as he dips his head at the woman. "Thank you for keeping watch of Yenna for me."

"It was no problem, dearie."

Then, she casts one last look at the younger girl before excusing herself out.

(Y/N) glanced up at her friend, eyebrow raised. "Why are you in a hurry if you have someone watching over her?"

"Well, you know...I want to spend time with her."

Is that so...

She wouldn't really know what it was like having a responsible parent. Neither of them would. But if Eli is doing this and so far nothing is going wrong, then maybe he's doing fine.
