When the door creaked open and Daniel park entered the apartment, (Y/N) was waiting for him on the floor, cross-legged and cross-armed. There was a characteristic scowl on her face, one that hasn't been that much used for a while now. As well as the lollipop she stuck to her mouth.

The teen stopped as he sees her.

"Look who came back," spits out (Y/N). "So, was it fun?"

"(Y/N)..." her brother sighed, voice tinged with exhaustion. "What is it this time?"

She resists the urge to throw her phone to his face, if only because she wasn't quite confident of his ability to catch it. Instead, the (h/c) haired girl raised her phone to eye level, and began reading out loud the words on her screen. Her voice was a pitch higher as if imitating someone.

"'(Y/N), who's that guy that keeps hanging around piggy? He's so weird! I caught him bullying piggy and then just earlier that guy was there when I met up with him! I don't really like him...Please tell piggy to stop talking to that person.'"

When she finishes, she didn't even lower her phone. (Y/N) but down on her lollipop, the sound of the candy cracking echoing in the silent apartment. "Who's the dumbass?" she asks, glowering.

It was obvious that whoever it was, is using her brother in order to get close to Zoe. She didn't think Daniel would revert back to being a pushover though.

Said boy's eyes remained glued on the device in her hands, seemingly frozen from where he stood. He didn't even close the door.

"Was that from...Zoe?"

"Who else?" she rolls her eyes.

There was a brief silence after. And then he shut his eyes and shook his head, finally ungluing from that place. He stepped inside without another word, and closed the door. Doing so put the room in the dark, because (Y/N) had it in her head that it'd have a more dramatic effect if she'd closed the lights.

(Maybe she never fully got rid of her edgy phase. Pfft-of course she never did.)

Daniel reached up for the lights. As soon as the light filled the room, both of them had to blink a few times to allow their eyes to adjust to the sudden light.

"What, you're ignoring me now?" she demands.

"It's no one important."

No one important? That was probably the shittiest lie she's ever heard from him. And she's heard more than enough of those.

"No one," she echoes, annoyance sparking up within her once more. Well now, isn't this conversation familiar? It almost felt like deja vu she could cry. Not. "No one, you say? Fine, keep your stupid secrets."

She waits a few more seconds in case her brother changes his mind. But he remains staring at the floor, avoiding her gaze stubbornly. (Y/N) lets out a huff, stood up and went off somewhere she doesn't have to see him.

The (h/c) haired girl glanced down at her phone as soon as she was out of his presence. There was a churning feeling in his gut as she types out her response to her friend.

sorry, he prolly won't listen

It was painfully obvious that there's something wrong, though. No matter how much Daniel insists there's nothing wrong. She didn't even realize how much the sudden regression of attitude had her mood turning foul since she talked to her, until her own co-worker confronted her about it.

"What's wrong?" Yujoon asks her one time she's at work.

"What do you mean what's wrong?"

"You're extra pissy lately," he elaborates, eyebrows scrunched together in concern. "Like how you were during the first few months. It's obvious something's bothering you."
