How...kind of the new girl to put it back to her desk.
During class the next day, she sees the words written on Crystal's textbook from the corner of her eye. She exhales and shakes her head, but kept her eyes locked on the teacher speaking in front.
She really doesn't need to do anything. Sometimes, interfering always makes things worse.
Except it's hard to just do nothing. Especially when the victim really did nothing wrong against her. With the lollipop incident from yesterday in her head, she expertly reached over and snatched Crystal's book and traded it for her own.
She didn't pay attention to whatever face the other girl was making. When (Y/N) looked down, she was met with the full view of everything that was written on the book.
Childish insults and doodles of an amateur. How cute.
She thinks they also did something since the words that were originally written there got scrubbed off.
(Y/N) sighs and closes it. It won't be of any use anyway.
At lunch, she finds Eli surrounded by the girls from his department. Each one of them seem rather eager to catch his attention. Good for him, she supposes.
Always the popular one, that guy...
Glancing to the side, she sees Crystal with the other girls from class. They seem to be pushing to her plate an unnatural amount of broiled fish. She even witnesses Yui shoving hers over.
Really now, if she wants Zack to notice her, she should at least pretend to be as much of an angel Mira is.
She sees the situation and thinks maybe Crystal doesn't like fish.
However, this wasn't her battle to fight. She didn't want to step in unless she was specifically told to do so. After all, bad things happen sometimes when she lets her feelings be one steo ahead.
Interfering with the book is already enough to let Crystal know she's willing to help in case it is needed.
But it wasn't like she'd remain quiet when she walked inside the restroom to wash her hands, only to find the girls from before all lounging there, all looking at Yui in praise as said girl smokes a cigar.
They fell silent when she steps in.
Look at these cowards.
(Y/N) wrinkles her nose and frowns at Yui. "Hey you."
"What?"
"Stop smoking. You stink."
She huffs at the words and dismisses them. "Why do you care? It's not any of your business."
Yui is really getting on every last nerve, huh. Is that her talent? She's been doing this ever since the school festival. There's only much that (Y/N) would allow to slide.
An insincere smile crept up the (h/c) haired girl's face. With this, she walks up to the sink and opens the tap.
"You know why Zack never looked your way?"
"Hey! Don't bring him up!"
"You reek so much, you keep dressing like an attention whore, you're hecka clingy and fake. You always spend too much time in the bathrooms because you're constipated. What's there to like?"
"That's...!" Yui turns red at each accusation. "That's not true at all! He...he doesn't know I'm constipated! And...he did look at me before, okay?"
"Well, I suppose it's free to dream..."
"It's not a dream!"
"See, I'm rather close with Mira," (Y/N) hums as she cuts off the water. "And Zack is a massive simp for her. So behave yourself and maybe I'll put in a good word for you, okay?"
Hah. Of course she won't do that. Yui has probably entered her list of most annoying people.
But it seems she's become a bit dumb when it comes to Zack.
She and her group shuffles out of the bathroom, throwing out her cigarette and pretending nothing happened.
(Y/N) stood there for a good while. She watches them disappear before turning to one of the closed door.
"I can see you pink shoes from here," she mentions.
It was silent for a while.
The slowly, the door swung open. Crystal stood there, observing her with scarily sharp eyes.
"Why're you bothering with me?"
"Me?" the (h/c) haired girl tilts her head and thinks for a while. Honestly? It's just because she can't help herself sometimes. "I just really like my lollipops."
"What?" Crystal stares at her weirdly. "No, it's not just that. I'm not stupid."
"Never said you were, though?"
The new girl stares at her, hostile and judging. Suddenly, (Y/N) has an epiphany. Was this what others feel whenever she looks at them the same way?
Not like she'd stop, but it was a bit...off-putting.
Well, if Crystal doesn't want her around, then she won't be around. It's not like she didn't know when to stop.
So the girl sighs and turns to leave. It wasn't her business.

That was probably the last time in a while she's seen Crystal Choi in school. After that, she's been absent for a series of days.
Considering the bullying that was happening, it wasn't really so surprising. The girls that were part of it seem quite satisfied, though. Except when the third day came by, they seem to start getting nervous.
(Y/N) exhaled a breath again and rests her head on top of her desk. In her case, there was nothing to feel guilty about.
Just then, the door slid open and a completely unfamiliar face came inside. It was a pretty girl with dark hair. She also brought a box with her as well.
Inside is full of burgers that look delectable.
"Please be nice to Crystal," she says, fiddling with her sleeves. "I'm her sister. As twins, we're the same age..."
Ah. So Crystal has a sister that doesn't look like her. She can see the other boys foaming at the mouth because of her presence.
(Y/N) only grabbed her share of burgers and hauled them over to her seat to eat. She didn't notice how the other girl's eyes followed her moves, seemingly deep in thought about something.
The classroom got a bit more rambunctious because of something she said. But (Y/N) was no longer listening.
The food happens to be more interesting than the boys that are so ready to worship the newcomer's feet.
