Teresa takes my tracker out, as I sit in front of the girl, my back facing her. I haven't spoken a word to her as she cuts into my neck. Eventually, she gets it out and sews the wound back up. She moves on to Thomas as I hold a cloth to the back of my neck and sit beside Fry and Gally.

"Bet she enjoyed that," Gally states.

"You're probably right," Fry sighs.

Newt comes around and tosses some jackets to the boys, "Here, see if these fit." Thank you's come from their mouths as the boy takes off his jacket and hands it to me.

"What about you," I ask him as I put it on--the thing being oversized on me. But it's super comfortable.

The blonde shakes his head as he takes a seat beside me, "I'll find another one... I can also use my other jackets if anything."

I stand up and peck the boy's cheek, "I'll be back. I'm gonna say bye to Jorge."

"Alright," he nods. "I love you."

"I love you too," I smile.

"Can you two not," Fry states. We look over at him and Gally, playful annoyed expressions on their faces.

I roll my eyes, "No can do, Fry." I smile at them as I walk off towards Jorge and Brenda.

"Hey mija," he smiles as he pulls me into a hug. When I pull away, he looks at Brenda and I. "You two be careful now, alright? I don't want to lose either of you, and Milo can't lose you either Clementine."

"We'll be fine," I assure him. He nods and looks over at Brenda, the two clearly needing to talk before he leaves. Their father-daughter relationship is the best. I pull Jorge into another hug before stepping back to walk away. "I'll see you soon Jorge, don't leave us hanging."

He nods, "I'll see you soon, mija."

I walk back over towards Newt and the boys, but decide to stop by Teresa and Thomas. Pulling up a chair beside her, I watch as she works on the tracker in his neck. The girl looks over and watches Brenda as Jorge leaves her.

"She looks good... healthy. How have you guys been getting her serum," she asks as she places the tracker on a napkin.

Thomas and I exchange confused looks before the boy speaks up. "What're you talking about?"

She lets out an annoyed sigh. "Brenda. I didn't think she'd still be alive. When was her last treatment?"

"The Right Arm," Thomas answers. "The last time we saw you."

She pauses before looking between the two of us. "But that was months ago." The brunette pulls away from her as he stares in disbelief. "Thomas, that's not possible. She should have turned by now. There's no way she could have-"

Thomas ignores her, standing up out of his seat as he pushes the chair away. "Alright, that's enough."

"You don't believe me," Teresa asks him.

"You really expect me to?"

"Thomas shut up. Just... let's hear her out," I tell the boy, my mind thinking about Milo. If what she's saying is true, then Milo should be gone by now too. But he's still alive... which means, if mine and Thomas's blood was used in their serums, it cured them. Our blood can be a cure.

Teresa looks back at me, making the same realization I did. "What about Milo? Is he still alive?"

I hesitantly nod my head. She looks between Thomas and I, "Thomas, your blood... something about it is different. If I could just get some and test it out then I can find a cure-"

Thomas cuts her off again, "No. You made your choice and sided with W.C.K.D."

Gally walks over, looking at the three of us. "Is everything okay here?"

"Yeah," Thomas tells him. "Yeah, we're done."

Gally pulls the girl away, bringing her into our previous room where we all slept in the night before. I walk over to Newt, gathering my supplies. I reload my clips and pistol, ensuring that I have all the ammo I can carry. My hands roam around as I rush to get all of this done.

Newt notices my frantic movements and lays his hand on mine. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah. I- yeah," I tell him as I continue placing my items where they belong.

He looks at me, skeptical of my answer. "Are you sure?"

I nod my head and smile at the boy before pecking his cheek. "I'm okay, Newt."

We decide to get a few hours of sleep before we initiate our plan, that way we don't run out of energy. Gally said we should all wake up in about two hours, so once we were done preparing our items, we return to our big room and get situated.

I sit on a couch, as Newt lays his head in my lap--the boy fast asleep as my hands play with his hair. I know I've made this observation several times before, but he looks so at peace when he sleeps. It brings a smile to my face.

Everyone else was sleeping, but for some reason I just couldn't bring myself to fall asleep. I notice Teresa get up from the side of the room and walk over to me. She sits on a cushion across from me, awkward silence filling the air.

I turn my gaze back to Newt, continuing to play with his hair as he sleeps peacefully.

"You really love him, huh," the girl says out of nowhere, speaking softly so she doesn't wake the others up.

"Uh... yeah," I respond hesitantly, the fear of losing him from before settling in again. Somewhere along the line, someone informed her that he has the Flare, so she probably knows exactly what I'm thinking about right now.

"You two always were a great couple," she smiles. I look up at her, unsure of how to respond. But she continues, "How's Milo?"

"He's doing good," I tell her. "He's really healthy and hasn't shown any signs of anything. The bite is even starting to turn into a scar."

Her eyes widen at the information. She hesitates before responding, "If Thomas's blood can allow for that to happen, then he has to be the key to the cure. His DNA probably destroys the virus in total." I don't think she realizes she's still talking out loud as she continues. "If I could get some of his blood and make a serum from it, I can test it out. It would definitely work."

I bite my lip as she says all of this, knowing fully well that it was my blood that helped Milo and not Thomas's. Thomas's blood helped Brenda though and did the same thing. So she's probably right about it all.

I pull down my arm sleeve that covers my left palm, revealing a big white bandage over it with a tint of red seeping through. Taking in a deep breath, I pull it back up and reach into my pocket. I pull out a small vile of a red liquid and hold it out to the girl.

She takes it and looks at me with a confused expression.

"Mary used my blood when she gave the serum to Milo," I explain, her eyes instantly widening. I let out a shaky breath before continuing. "Teresa, I am pushing everything behind us right now. Take this and make Newt a serum... please."

She nods her head. "I'll try."

"Trying isn't good enough, I need you to promise me that you will do it."

"Okay," she smiles, "I promise you, Clementine, I will get you a serum for Newt."

"Thank you," I mumble. She nods her head before walking off, back to her makeshift bed.

I end up resting my head against a pillow that I placed on the armrest of the couch. My eyes look back down at Newt as I let out a sigh. I'm getting you that cure, Newt. No matter what it takes.

I close my eyes and drift off to sleep, preparing myself for what's to come.
