Epilogue

"Wake it up." He laughed as he stared down at you.

"You try having a gremlin sucking every ounce of energy out of you." You grunted as you straightened your position in the chair.

"I know love. Here's your tea." He said as he offered you a small cup filled with fresh tea.

"Thank you hun" You said with a smile as you accepted it from his hands. You took a sip, enjoying the flavor as the warm liquid made its way down your throat. 

"So, any plans for today?" He asked as he took a seat from across from you.

"No not really. No house work since you just end up bitching at me and doing it yourself. Might try and finish my book but thats about it." you responded, taking another sip.

"Okay, cool." He said, looking off at the ocean.

"Why?" You asked, curious. You could tell from his body language that something was up. 

"Nothing. Am I not allowed to ask?" He asked as he turned his attention to you.

"You are." You said, squinting your eyes at him. Still suspicious. 

The two of you sat outside chatting for the next hour. Planning when your next trip off he island his week would be as well as what was going to be for dinner, even though it wasn't even lunch time. Food was always top priority for you recently. You're small chat was quickly interrupted as the sound of an approaching speed boat began humming in the distance.

"Who's that?" You asked as you stood up from your chair.

"Not sure." Mikey said as he stood up with you. The both of you peering of at the small black dot that was approaching. Then there was 2, then 3.

"Ummm Mikey, something's not right." You said as panic began to set in. No one ever came to the island accept for the dr and he was always scheduled. 

"Get in the house." Mikey ordered as he took off around the house. You did exactly as he had said and quickly made your way into the safety of the house. You were always scared the police or FBI would come looking for you and it seemed that maybe that finally had. You could see your whole life, the family that you and Mikey had began to create crumbling in front of you as you rushed to the bedroom to take shelter. You leaned against the door, listening out for any sound of distress down stairs. You felt a soft kick against your stomach. She must of sensed your frustration. "It's going to be okay sweetheart." You said as your rubbed the spot where her foot had collided with your skin. 

 You stood there with your back against the cold door for what seemed like forever. The silence of the house was finally broken by the sound of foot steps coming up the stairs. Your heart began to jump up into your throat as they began to grow closer. You glanced around the room, searching for any way to escape. To your dismay there was none. You were trapped. As the footsteps stopped in front of the door you watched as the door handle slowly began to turn. You held your breath as you braced yourself for whatever was on the other side of the door. The door slowly began to creak open revealing a figure. You gasped, cupping your hand over your mouth. You felt hot tears begin to fill your eyes, quickly blurring your eyes. 

"Kaede?" You managed to choke out.

 "Hey kid." He smiled. You ran to him, embracing him in a hug, nuzzling your head into his chest. He wrapped his arms around you, laying his head ontop of yours.

 "What are you doing here?" You asked in between soft cries of happiness. 

"Came to see you of course, and the idiot." He laughed as he wiped a tear from your cheek.
