Chapter 61 - Returning to School: Time for Camp!

Start from the beginning

"Do you remember now, idiot?" Fuji shot at him but he ignored her comment.

"Right then." Kyodai left his bag in his chair and turned to walk away. "I'll go and pack my things now then."

"Do that and then hurry up and-"

"Hurry up and get out of the house, I know. You tell me this every time, Fuji."

"Then go."

He growled a few things under his breath before going back upstairs to his room. His room was a mess but he managed to search through the junk on the floor to find the bag he wanted to bring. He looked around his room again and began putting in the things he had bought when he went shopping. At least he knew nothing would really go to waste since he did have to buy everything on his own.

"Hm..." Kyodai was thinking about the trip and then groaned. 'Great! That's setting me up for so many jokes about being in the forest!'

"HURRY UP!" Fuji could be heard from downstairs, yelling for him.

"ALRIGHT, I AM!"

He tried to hurriedly get the rest of his things together. Looking at the broken alarm clock on the floor, he tossed it to the side to look for anything else he needed. Under his bed, he could see how messy it was. He began moving things off to the side, trying to find anything else he needed for the trip.

That's when he accidently pushed a spray bottle off to the side. His ears heard the sloshing of a liquid inside of it and he turned his head. He could've sworn he lost the bottle and it had been under his bed for a reason. Reaching out, he grabbed it but could instantly smell it, making him throw it off to the side. He put his hand over his nose as he grabbed his bag. Though, before he left the room, he kicked it back under his bed quickly.

The smell of chili powder and garlic mixed with water was too strong.

Kyodai began his walk towards the gate after getting off the train. He sighed and almost felt more tired than usual. He wondered if that was because of everything that happened at the I-Expo but he couldn't figure it out.

He saw lots of other students walk by him. They were talking to each other, instantly knowing that those students were friends. His ears lowered at that and he didn't want it to bother him. So he couldn't figure out why it somehow did and he closed his eyes for a second, to try tuning out other students and their friends.

"Hey, Big Ears!" Hearing the nickname made him open his eyes and turn his head.

A girl ran towards him, carrying her bag in her hands. All of the rings, earrings, and other omamori she wore didn't seem to be holding her back. Her black hair almost covered up her face as she ran to him.

"Hey there, Big Ears!" Muda stopped right next to him to walk next to him.

"Idiot!" Kyodai instantly snapped at her as his ears lowered. "I told you not to call me that, just Kyodai!"

"I don't care, I'll call you what I want."

"You're so annoying..."

"Anyways, do you have everything you need for camp? Since you wanted to be lame and not go shopping with us."

"...Don't you have to get harsher training at camp?" He shot at her, the comment piercing through her as an anger mark appeared on her head.

The two didn't notice Kanetsu walking by them. "They're together like they're friends but argue like they're enemies..."

Yoyume couldn't understand it herself and shrugged. "They can do what they want, I guess."

"Hey, Mizu!" Iki ran over to her and then pointed at her hand, making the red haired look at it. "I didn't know you got your cast off!"
