I looked up tonight
As I was baking in the kitchen
And I noticed my family
All watching a show in the other room
Nothing special, nothing unifying and new
But as I looked up
It was as if
For the first time
I noticed
Just how lucky I am
My family is safe
And warm
And together.
My parents love one another
And my brothers are both
Still here
We're all together
Who knows how many more Christmases
We will
Get to be together
Just like this
So for the time being
I am soaking it all in
And basking in the gratitude
For my family is here,
Together.
I am so grateful I
