Marcus draws near to me.

"Sup?" He asked.

I nodded at his greeting and we did our handshake for the first time in months.

I opened my mouth to say something but he interrupted me, "Nah man, let me say what I came to say." he continued.

"I'm still cut up about everything that went down, but I'm ready to put everything behind me if you are."

"You have my blessing and I know you don't need it but I don't want any animosity between us. You're my brother for real and against my better judgment I trust you... with her," he said unsure.

I nodded in appreciation.

"Good luck out there today."

I pulled him in for a hug and he patted my back while laughing.

"I would wish you luck too but you don't need that shit. Fortunately, you're already innately great at football," he said.

"Are y'all ready to play the biggest game of your lives?" Coach asked.

"Let's go!" Marcus yelled and everyone else joined in.

We did our handshake and we separated to form a line to enter the field.

I scanned the crowd nervously.

I spotted my family in the crowd anxiously waiting on game time.

Mr. Virgo and his wife were there as well in the same vicinity as my family.

In closer seats to the field sat Marissa anxiously biting her nails.

Mia was on her left with her phone in hand making videos.

Soon we were on the field all lined off and ready to start.

When the game began, my body went into acceleration mode.

Excitement buzzed in the stadium as the passes began.

I could feel the sweat gathering at my hairline and pooling down my back.

We were neck and neck so far. They were going to be tough to beat.

I knew it from watching their game tapes and playing alongside them now proves my theories right.

One wrong move and we could lose the game.

I had to stay focused or else this would be our fifth year missing the trophy.

It was half time now.

We relaxed ourselves, hydrated and discussed our plans for the second half.

Then we moved back to the field.

"Set, hut, hut."

It felt different in the last half.

We were playing more strategic and unified.

I was giving it my all.
