Jeremy
Today's a Wednesday, the second worst day of the week, when I'm lazy as hell after practicing for three hours.
Not to mention that coach yelled at me for letting my gpa drop. He asked what type of example I was setting as the captain and I've never felt so shitty.
In that second, I decided that I would do whatever it took to make Marissa tutor me.
I've been failing Sociology since I first sat in that class in September.
Professor Gooden, our lecturer, sure as hell didn't make it easy to learn and neither did the different perspectives on each topic.
So, I just kept failing her tests again and again.
My sociology grades are so bad it's affecting my entire gpa.
If I failed the midterms coming up I'll be benched for the rest of the season.
Marcus, my best friend, tried to get his twin sister to tutor me, but unfortunately she's unavoidably busy.
To be honest though, even if she could do it, she wouldn't.
The proof was right there on her face yesterday when I showed up at her workplace.
It's probably why at first I thought that it was a lie when she said she didn't have time to take on such a huge responsibility.
Marcus insists that it has nothing to do with me personally, and that it's more to do with the fact that she works.
But I know Ri, and I know that she's happy to use all of that as an excuse.
Only, I'm not easily fooled, she can still tutor me and get an eight hours rest, ergo, she's avoiding me.
I met Marcus and Marissa in high school. At that time they were just acquaintances, Marissa was in two of my classes and Marcus had math with me.
He and I got close when we both joined the football team freshman year, and that's how our friendship developed.
Now, he's more like my brother than a best friend.
Our fathers were also business partners which is initially how we met and we spent a whole summer together because of that.
Marissa and I became close friends that summer.
Because of their bond as siblings she was around her brother a lot, so our friendship came naturally.
But during the summer before junior year, a lot of things happened and Marissa and I stopped talking to each other.
She basically told me that we needed to stop spending so much time with each other.
She explained how she needed to find her own identity, and she no longer wanted to leech on her brother's friends.
I understood, so I backed off.
But since that day we never spoke to each other again.
We passed each other in the hallways in high school during the rest of our tenure.
We ignored each other's existence even now.
When I see her on campus and in Sociology class, I act like she's not there, just like she wants me to.
To top it all off, when I go over to their apartment, we don't say a thing to each other, and it's unhealthy how long we've kept this up.
Marcus notices, but he just thinks that Marissa doesn't like her brother's friends like every other sister does.
