A Shift of Events (StoryShift! Chara x Male! Reader)

I opened my eyes instantly as I woke up. I looked around and I was still in my room, on my bed, with the same window who's letting out a gentle stream of light. "So I'm really alive." I said to myself as I got up. 'Indeed you are.' A voice said in my head, then it clicked. "Wait, now you can talk to me even when I'm awake ?" I said lowly as I didn't want anyone to hear that. 'Yeah, before I was just a remnant of myself, barely any magic to live, and since Shifty was keeping me in his control, the only way I could have magic back was LV.' Metta explained. "Hence that self-proclaimed title." I said as I smiled a bit. Then I heard a tiny laugh coming from him. 'Yep, exactly.' He said, I shook my head as I opened the window, and I took the occasion to look outside, the Sun was rising, there was a gentle breeze of air, a bit chilly but the warmth of the Sun compensated.

'Feeling better ?' I heard him asking. "Yeah, still feeling a bit sore, but don't feel like I could crumble." I said. 'Good, that's one of the weak point of my magic.' He said. Then I had an idea. "Could you explain your magic to me ?" I asked. Then I knew that he nodded, even if I couldn't see him, a bit strange but I didn't care. 'It's simple, basically, I can grab a little bit of your magic, add a bit of mine, and give it back to you, giving you a boost. The said-boost can vary, if I give you small amounts, it wouldn't be great. But if I give you a huge amount, then the change would be noticeable.' He explained, I nodded as it was surely helpful. "Kinda like my Boost." I said as I closed my window. 'Yeah, exactly. But I don't know the limits of it, I gave you around 20% of my magic yesterday, and the side-effects were kind of painful for you.' He started, I just nodded as I waited for him to start again. 'Then again, it might be because it was the first time in a while since I used my magic, or might be because you were killed. Might be both.' Metta said while yawning. 'And the second weak point is the effects of LV on your soul. You see, LV is a real double edged sword, while it makes you more powerful and durable, you lose your humanity, only thinking about increasing it. But before losing yourself, you start to lose your feelings, becoming hollow.' He finished, so that much-dreaded LV is not something to take slightly. "Take it easy my friend, one day we'll learn about your limits." I said as I opened my room's door.

Then, as I looked towards the living room, I could see Chara and Paul talking, I saw that he was smiling and Chara had a little side smile. "You don't plan to steal her from me right ?" I asked as I made my way downstairs, Paul looked at me and smiled. "And what if it was my plan ?" He said with a huge confidence. "You're not that guy pal." I said as I made my way towards him. I ruffled his hair as he groaned a bit. "Come on dude, I just showered." He said as he replaced his hairs. "Had a good sleep ?" I asked my brother, he looked at me and smiled. "Yeah, it's 1000x better than to sleep on that concrete floor." He said as he rubbed his shoulder. "Once again, thanks to all of you. I couldn't be more grateful to you." He said, I smiled at him and then I looked at Chara, who's smiling too. "Don't you worry Paul. I always wanted to meet my brother-in-law." Chara said as she got up and made her way towards the kitchen.

I just sighed as I put my hand on my forehead. "Wait, are you engaged ?" Paul asked me, whispering. "No dude, what the hell ?!" I said, as I felt my cheeks being hot. "So the mighty Y/N can blush huh ?" He said as he nudged me. "Jealous that I have a girl huh ?" I said as I returned his nudging. "That's a low hit right there." He said as he faked some tear-wiping. Then I smiled as I felt that too much time passed without him around. 'Glad to finally have you back, lil' bro." I said, then he smiled at me and nodded. "Yeah, feels good to be back." He said, I was happy to finally have my only family close to me again. "Had breakfast yet ?" I asked him, he nodded. "Yeah, Chara showed me the goods." He said, I laughed a bit then made my way towards the kitchen. 

"Happy now ?" Chara asked me as I opened the fridge to grab the milk. "How could I not ?" I asked rhetorically. She just laughed as I poured the milk into my mug. "I don't want to bring bad vibes, but now, what's the plan ? I mean, this isn't over right ?" She asked me, I sadly sighed as I knew that, by killing Diaz, I declared war. "Sadly not, we'll talk about it later today. As for now, let's just enjoy." I said as I kissed Chara on the lips. "The moment I look towards you you're kissing your Chara." Paul groaned in the living room. We exchanged a look with Chara before laughing. "You've seen nothing yet." I said as Chara nodded, Paul looked again at us and had a question mark on his head. "You did worse than that ?" He asked, I could tell that he prepared for the worst. "He's not talking about us." Chara said, Paul did take seconds to understand. "Seems like my torture isn't over..." Paul said, trailing off, then it took a millisecond of eye contact between him and me before we busted out laughing. "I can see he's your brother, the same dark humor." Chara said to me, I calmed down as I looked at her. "Yeah, runs in the blood." I said as I saw Paul smiling as he looked at me.

Yeah, I'm fucking glad to have my brother back.
