"GUYS! YOU MADE IT!" Art excitedly said to us when he greeted us outside his house. "Most of the guests are here, but the dinner hasn't started yet. So let's head inside first so I can introduce you to my mom."
"Thanks for having us," Vicki said as Art opened the gate wider for us.
"Art, we always knew you were rich, but we didn't expect that you were Henry Syrich," Justin jokingly said, making Art laugh.
"Please, let's not exaggerate."
Justin and Vicki headed inside first, but I was still standing outside in complete shock after what I discovered about Aries's ex. Art had to touch my shoulder and snap me out of it. "Dom, you alright?" He asked, and I smiled and nodded my head as we finally went inside as well.
"Sorry, we weren't able to bring anything for your mom."
"Oh, don't worry about it."
We got inside the Buan residence and were immediately welcomed by a dozen people I wasn't familiar with. I also don't want to be the one to judge here, but with one glance, you could tell that everyone here was living a comfortable life, or in layman's terms, they were fucking rich. I could even tell it by the way they laughed. It's ridiculous.
"Let me introduce you guys to the birthday celebrant," Art said as he led us to the kitchen, where there were a ton of cakes lined up on the counter. "Mom, my friends just arrived."
Mrs. Buan, who I recall is named Anastasia, was checking the dishes that were being prepared for tonight's dinner. She was shorter than Art, around Aries's height, but she looked incredible. She was just oozing with elegance and grace that for a second, I almost went down on my knee to bow to her.
"Hello, Mrs. Buan. Happy birthday," Vicki greeted her first, and Mrs. Buan turned to us and immediately gave us this sweet motherly smile that made us feel so welcomed in an instant. She looked really kind too, but I couldn't help but feel nervous. Besides Mrs. Buan being Art's mom, this is also Aries's mom. I felt a little ashamed to even look at her straight in the eyes, knowing full well what her son and I do together in private.
"Hello, it's so nice to meet you all," she greeted us back, leaning forward to give Vicki a beso-beso (Cheek to cheek kiss, which is a common greeting). And then she did the same for Justin too, who was acting all shy for the first time, almost making me laugh. She then turned to face me, but before she could give me a kiss, she suddenly looked at me with surprise.
"Oh my, you're a handsome one," she complimented, making me awkwardly laugh.
"T-Thank you, Mrs. Buan," I replied, and it was her turn to laugh.
"And a gentleman too. What a wonderful boy. Your mother must have taught you well."
"Thank you," I replied again, and Mrs. Buan leaned to press her cheeks on mine.
