THERE ARE MANY DISADVANTAGES of not going on vacations, and one of them is not learning how to swim. I realized this when the others guilt-tripped me into jumping into the pool because they didn't know that I was not a swimmer, and when I did, I couldn't rise back up. It was literally the most embarrassing thing ever, especially since Ash and two other guys had to pull me up.
Why did I even assume that I'm a good swimmer without ever swimming anymore? I thought you just needed to kick your feet and wave your hands around so you could float, but no, that was definitely not the case at all. I panicked and drank so much water I thought I was gonna die.
"You okay?" Aries asks while I'm sitting on the side of the pool, swinging my legs around while my feet touch the water.
"If almost dying means I'm okay, then yeah, I'm okay," I answer as Aries sits beside me, laughing.
"Want me to teach you how to swim?"
"Now it feels like you're mocking me," I answer, and Aries laughs even more.
I lean forward and splash some water on him, and then Aries does the same, but harder. But while we're playing around, Diane arrives and pretends to push me off the side of the pool, making my heart stop beating for a quick second. It looks like I'm traumatized by the pool now.
"PDA is not allowed on this trip," Diane complains as Aries and I turn to look at her. I got ready to scold her for even trying to push me, but when I looked back at her, my jaw just completely dropped.
She's wearing this white two-piece bikini, and her hair is tied in a clean ponytail. I'm serious when I say that if anyone even has the chance to make me straight, it might be Diane. But of course, this is only possible in my next life because I am still very much in love with a particularly grumpy zodiac sign.
"Dom, if you fall in love with me, that's gonna be a big problem," Diane then says, instantly making me look away.
Diane laughs, but then Aries splashes some water on her too, instantly making Diane angrily back away. "Aries!" she yells, and Aries just laughs before leaning his head to my shoulder, instantly making Diane sigh.
"Hey, shouldn't you two be careful? Someone might see," Diane asks, which I totally agree with, but Aries has been clingy since earlier. It's not like I don't like it, but he's being a little strange. Maybe I should ask him if something's on his mind when we're alone later.
"It's fine. Everyone's busy playing at the beach anyway," Aries casually answers, and Diane and I turn to look at each other, obviously thinking the same thing about Aries.
Something's definitely off with him. At first, I thought that he's been extra expressive with his physical touch because he's just much more comfortable with me now, but something's definitely wrong. He won't be acting like this if everything is alright.
"Aries, are you okay?" Diane asks first before I can even get to arrange my thoughts.
Aries removes his head away from my shoulder and looks back at the pool. "I've just been thinking about something, that's all. We're heading to the US next week, and honestly, I'd rather be here with Dom than go with them to celebrate Christmas and New Year," Aries reveals.
