"Hey, did something happen?" I then ask, and Aries looks at me and gives me a reassuring smile before reaching out to touch the necklace that I'm wearing. "I'm okay," he continues to say, and I nod my head in understanding. Maybe I'm just looking too deeply into it. There are usually days when we feel under the weather, so I completely understand if Aries feels that way.
For now, the best thing I can do is stay by his side and make this trip enjoyable as possible. If he's ready to tell me what's on his mind, then I'll be there to listen.
"Guys!" Someone then shouts, interrupting our serious conversation. The three of us turn around and spot Ash running towards us, holding a beach volleyball. "What are you guys doing there? Let's play!"
Okay, now that's something I actually might be good at.
"Come on, let's join the others," I say as I stand from the edge of the pool, reaching my hand towards Aries so he can grab it. Aries stares at my hand before grabbing it so I can pull him up.
"Let's go, lovebirds," Diane teases as she runs her way to Ashley to drape her arms around her shoulder. I then turn to Aries to check on him again. I couldn't really read his expression well, so I just let it be and touched his back as we joined the others.
The rest of the day was filled with fun activities. After playing in the sand, Ash and the others taught me how to swim in the ocean, which took an hour before I could even successfully float on my back for barely ten seconds before drowning again. We also rode a banana boat, and thanks to my life vest, I got to play in the water with the others too.
Aries seemed to enjoy the trip as well because he was playing around with the other seniors and chatting with his juniors. I know I'm being overdramatic, but I can't help but check on him from time to time just to see what kind of expression he's making. If I continue with this kind of approach, others might end up thinking that I'm the strange one.
"Cheers!"
As soon as the sun went down and the sky graced us with a stunning view of the stars, all of us went to the beach and set up a campfire, drinking cold beer and brandy, as well as eating hotdogs on a stick and sweet corn that barely has any flavor.
Not all of us were here, unfortunately, because some went to their rooms to rest while the others were drinking at the bar beside the pool. But there were still fifteen of us around the campfire, and lucky for me, Luke was with us since his friends forced him to join.
Ash and I sat together, while Aries sat with Diane just across from us.
"Let's play truth or dare," one of the seniors suggests, and everyone instantly agrees to it. This is honestly the start of a horror flick. If someone ends up getting murdered, I'm heading home. And I'm gonna drag Aries with me.
"Alright, let me spin the bottle. If the bottle lands on you, you're gonna have to take a shot first, and then you're gonna choose between truth or dare," Mae says as she puts the cooler in the middle before placing the empty bottle on top of it. Mae spins the bottle, and then it eventually stops on Nicole Santos, a second-year who won the bus pageant earlier.
Everyone starts cheering as the seniors hand Nicole a shot glass. She takes a deep breath first and finally takes the shot, making us cheer even louder.
"Alright, truth or dare?" Mae asks, and Nicole bravely answers, "Dare."
Nicole's answer excited everyone, so the seniors huddle up so they can discuss what she'll have to do. After a few seconds of careful consideration, Mae looks back at Nicole and asks her, "Alright, Nicole...we dare you to walk towards the person you think is the most attractive among us and give them a lap dance."
