a devils pact (yan. Oikawa x f.reader)

Oikawa is standing behind you, looking down on you.

"not eating with the team? they miss you" he says and the tone in his voice is more playful at the end.

you can't even say something before he sits down besides you, laying his tray besides yours.

you look around for Iwaizumi but you don't spot him anywhere around, which is quiet unusual, so you ask Oikawa about him.

"why are you asking for him?" he asks in return and his eyes narrow ever so slightly.

you shrug.

"just curious.." you say and the way Oikawa looks at you makes you nervous, uncomfortable, so you look away from him.

you decide to look down on your food before glancing at Yumi who is looking at you while Oikawa is settling down.

he sits a bit closer to you than necessary, making your arms touch every now and then.

you shift away from him slightly, adjusting your seating position.

you make yourself as small as possible to avoid the touch Oikawa is almost forcing on you.

the table has fallen quiet, neither of you three talking but instead just eating your food.

when you and Yumi are almost finished eating Oikawa has barely even started to eat.

and then another person joins the table, sitting across from Oikawa and next to Yumi.

it's Iwaizumi and you were never more glad to have him around with the silence becoming uncomfortable.

he's quick to catch your gaze, reading the situation and pulling Oikawa in a conversation about their training.

"Ah yes" Oikawa suddenly says turning to you and you turn your head to face him as well.

"are you free on Sunday?" he asks and you know that you are and yet you shrug before nodding.

"I guess? why?" you ask.

"I want to go on a date with you" he says and he says it loud enough so the girl table behind you, girls who are in Oikawa's fan club and chose their seating in the cafeteria based on where he is sitting, can hear.

but Oikawa doesn't seem to think you are aware of it so with a quick movement of his brown eyes he gestures to the all girls table, letting you know that you have to say yes in order for your pact and plan to work non verbally.

and still, his words leave you flabbergasted for a moment.

"uhm..sure" you say and he smiles brightly.

"great!" he happily says and his eyes vanish under his smile.

you smile back, as friendly as possible, before turning back to Yumi who is obviously fighting the urge to let her jaw hang loose.

you tap her foot with yours under the table before silently asking her if you guys can get out of the cafeteria with your eyes.

she nods almost unnoticeably and the both of you stand up from your seats.

you are barely standing when Oikawa asks you where you're going and you know that telling him you need some physical space from him is not the right answer.

so you lie.

"I wanted to show Yumi the rest of the school" you say and grab your tray just like Yumi does and she nods along to your words.

Oikawa pulls a grimace but doesn't say anything but "see ya later,then".

you didn't notice you breathed shallowly until you were out of the cafeteria and took a deep breath your lungs needed.

"that was...well.." you can hear Yumi say behind you, she seems to be at a loss for words as well.

"the date he asked you out to.." she then starts as she walks besides you "..was it only for the pact?"

you nod.

"the group of girls that sat behind us after Oikawa sat at our table were almost all of his fan club, they follow him like hounds most of the time" you explain.

" 'most of the time'?" Yumi asks and you shrug.

"he seems to have some kind of agreement with them so that they don't flood the gym while the volleyball team practices, though I have never seen anyone besides the volleyball club in the gym during their training hours.." you say and Yumi interlocks her arm with yours.

she smiles at you.

"well then, show me around my personal tour guide!" she says with enthusiasm and you chuckle.

"can do" you agree and show her the inside of some buildings you know she will need to go to based on her class plan.

after that you show her around outside.

you show her the outside sports fields before you show her the gym which your school's volleyball club occupies most of the time.

"there is a girl's team too, right?" Yumi asks and you nod.

"there is but they are not as popular and successful as the boys so they are quickly forgotten."

after showing her the gym you show her the tiny rest she hasn't seen yet before you guys have to hurry back to your classrooms.

you bring Yumi to her classroom before going to yours, taking a seat at your desk.

there are still a few minutes until class starts but you're rather early than late.

the next lesson is going quietly, Mika is concentrating on the class so you can do so in peace as well.

during the short breaks you have in between lessons you leave the classroom to go use the bathroom since you didn't have time to during lunch break because you were showing Yumi around.

Mika watches you stand up and she smiles at you when you turn to her in confusion of why she watches you, you return the smile.

you like Mika even though she talks a lot and is in Oikawa's fan club.

and you feel a sting in your heart when you realize that she probably only talks to you because she thinks you're actually getting closer to him.

she started talking to you only after lunch yesterday and there is a certain smugness in the pain it set's into your heart because this feeling of 'betrayal' is so familiar.

you were aware of Mika's reasons for trying to befriend you and yet the realization took a moment to not only reach your mind but your heart as well.
