"J-Jesus, Aries, are you okay?" I asked him, and Aries looked at me like I said the most controversial thing ever.
"How did you know I met up with Blaine?" Aries asked, almost worried.
"I saw him," I answered. "And I kinda eavesdropped on you two a little, but only for a while, I swear. I left as soon as I could," I explained further.
Aries looked at me, still shocked. His ears began turning red soon after, but before I could say anything, the car behind us was honking at us. The stop light had already turned green, so Aries quickly looked away from me and started driving again.
"How much did you hear?" Aries then asked.
"W-well...enough to know you just boasted about me to your first love?" I told him, and Aries's face completely turned red this time. He then reached out to pinch my arm, making me wince in pain.
"Why didn't you tell me earlier?"
"Well, you weren't opening it up!"
"I know, sorry," he then answered in a much softer tone, his attitude making a 180-degree turn again. "I didn't want to talk about it in full detail because I didn't want to make you feel uncomfortable. I especially don't want to talk about someone like Blaine when we just saw each other again after five months."
Aries looked like a kid trying to explain to his parents how he accidentally knocked over a vase. It was obvious he was genuinely troubled about it, and I honestly wanted to tease him further, but instead I reached out and pinched his cheek to make him feel better.
"I didn't bring it up to scold you," I told Aries. "I just genuinely want to know how you felt when you saw him again. You know, how did things go? When are you two meeting each other again? I know how important he was to you, so I'm not mad if you two talked."
"Want me to introduce you to him?" Aries asked instead, catching me off guard this time.
"Me?"
"Are you not my boyfriend?" He asked back, making me laugh.
"Well, I would be very much delighted to meet the guy my boyfriend wanted to be with first. I'm going to make him feel so jealous of us as revenge for breaking your heart," I told him, and this time, it was Aries's turn to laugh.
"I expected nothing less from you."
The two of us smiled at each other, glad that we could finally talk like this again. So after enjoying each other's company, we didn't even notice that we finally arrived at the restaurant where we were expected by his family. That's why when we got out of the car, my heart started beating fast again. It completely forgot why we even drove here in the first place.
"Let's go?" Aries asked before we went inside.
"Let's go."
As much as I want to back out last minute, I sucked it all in and followed behind Aries who confidently went to the restaurant to find his family. I didn't know what to expect, and I was trying my best to act as calm as I could. But when I saw this long table where the Buan family was seated, my entire body just froze.
"Hey," Aries cooly greeted as he approached his family, immediately making everyone stand to greet him.
"The graduate finally came! Do you know how long we waited for you?" Apollo, Aries's older brother, complained as he reached out to give him a hug.
"Uncle Aries! Congratulations!" Athena, Apo's daughter, then ran up to him holding a bouquet of roses. She hands it to him and then runs back to her mother, making the people at the table laugh because of how obviously rehearsed that was.
