It wasn't the waiting that made them all nervous it was the fact Laurel and Julia weren't shouting they were just talking. They'd all gone quiet when they saw them walking back in, neither of the women giving off any annoyed vibes."I'm pulling out of the sale," Julia said the moment she stepped foot back into the kitchen.
Bre jumped into the arms of the person closest to her and it ended up being Conrad. But the two teens didn't pull away in fact they pulled themselves into a closer hug. They need each other to embrace, especially in this moment.
"Yes" Belly said jumping up and down. All of them were. The past week they'd lost hope and got it back multiple times.
"Let's not celebrate yet, we still need to convince your dad to buy the house from Julia," Laurel said pulling out her phone. Conrad kissed Bre on the forehead before pulling away.
"Thank you" Conrad said nodding to Julia. Bre smiled and continued to jump up and down.
"Thank you" Jeremiah said hugging Julia. Bre, Steven, Belly and Skye had joined in a massive group hug.
"We did it, well part of it" Bre shouted, all of them were happy.
"You know, I'm almost afraid to say it out loud but I'm feeling hopeful" Conrad smiled looking at Bre.
"I mean my mom has always been pretty good at schooling your dad" Bre joked. She'd walked over to the bags of rubbish which is where Conrad had met her.
"Thank you for calling Laurel. I meant to say something earlier but then..." Conrad smiled helping her carry the bags out to the bin.
"It's good having her here, helping us out" Bre smiled opening the bin lid to throw all the bags in.
"Yeah," Conrad smiled. The two teenagers filled the bins in silence both wanting to bring up the same thing.
"Can we talk about last night?" Conrad asked breaking the awkwardness in the air.
"Honestly, last night was, uh kind of a blur" Bre said biting her lip.
"Whatever I said...You were right. I should never have ended things like that. And the fucked up thing is, I thought I was doing right by you" Conrad sighed, he'd been beating himself up for it for weeks.
"You...you were going through a lot," Bre said, her eyes welling up a little bit. She still loved him with every ounce of her being, but she knew right now they needed space to grow up, whether they were together or not.
"But that is not an excuse...And I hate the thought of you looking back on the night we spent here together and regretting what we did" Conrad said looking down at his shoes.
"Of course, it hurts to look back on that night, but I don't regret it. I don't regret any of the times we were together" Bre said reaching out and taking Conrad's hand in hers.
"I loved you, and I know you loved me, too," Bre said smiling, she knew it and she still did.
"If I could go back, if I could...do things differently, I would" Conrad nodded.
"Conrad, it's okay. I mean, we both hurt each other a lot. And I don't want to hurt you again" Bre shook her head, they both needed each other too much.
