AUTHOR'S POV
A crowded mall on a Wednesday afternoon. Lisa and her friends are heading towards the food stalls. As they walk, Jeongyeon, distracted by their conversation, tries to manoeuvre through the crowded space. She accidentally bumps into a woman, and her hand awkwardly cupped the woman’s breast.
"Did you just touch my breast?" The woman stopped abruptly, her eyes narrowed.
"What? No, I—I didn’t mean to! I was just trying to—!" Jeongyeon immediately flustered, her face turned red.
"Trying to what? Feel me?" The woman cut her off and crossed her arms over her chest.
" No, no! It was an accident, I swear! I wasn’t even looking where I was going!" Jeongyeon stammered, trying to defend herself.
"Oh, so now you’re blaming me for not looking where you were going?" Nayeon raised an eyebrow, clearly not convinced.
"No! That’s not what I meant! I just—!" Jeongyeon getting more flustered, struggling to find the right words.
"What, you just thought you’d cop a feel and then pretend it was an accident? Do I look that stupid to you?" The woman stepped closer, her voice rising.
By now, their raised voices have drawn the attention of their friends, who stop and turn to see what’s going on. A few bystanders nearby glance over, sensing the tension.
"Hey, hey, what’s going on here?" Jisoo walks over, sensing trouble.
"Uh, did something happen?" Rosé said Noticing Nayeon’s defensive stance.
"She touched my breast purposely" Nayeon stated angrily.
"It was a mistake! I didn’t mean to touch her like that!" Jeongyeon was awkward and defensive, trying to explain.
" Sure didn’t feel like a mistake to me." Nayeon's arms crossed, glaring.
"Okay, let’s all take a deep breath. Nayeon, I’m sure she didn’t mean any harm." Jennie stepped in, trying to calm things down.
"Oh, so now you’re taking her side? I knew this was a bad idea." Nayeon scoffed, not backing down.
" I’m not trying to make excuses! I’m telling you, it was an accident!" Jeongyeon getting frustrated, feeling cornered.
" Yeah, sure. Accidents happen all the time, right?" Nayeon said sarcastically.
The argument begins to escalate, with Nayeon and Jeongyeon now speaking over each other, both growing more agitated. The tension between them intensifies as they each feel wronged by the other’s reactions.
"Okay, okay, this is getting out of hand. Can we all just calm down?" Irene tried to mediate, holding her hands up.
"I said I was sorry! What more do you want from me?" Jeongyeon felt cornered, her voice rising in frustration.
"I want you to admit you did it on purpose!" Nayeon was equally frustrated, raising her voice.
"But I didn’t!" Jeongyeon exasperated.
"Then why did it happen?" Nayeon stepping closer, challenging.
"Because I wasn’t paying attention, okay?" Jeongyeon is defensive, stepping back.
"So now I’m not worth your attention?" Nayeon angry
Their friends exchange worried glances as the argument reaches a boiling point. Jeongyeon and Nayeon, both too stubborn to back down, are now practically nose to nose, their voices loud enough to attract the attention of even more bystanders.
