Within minutes, Sana and Tzuyu arrived with Mrs. Chou who was a doctor. As soon as Sana walked in and saw Lisa's condition, her face paled. Tears filled her eyes as she rushed to her sister's side.
"Lisa!"
Sana's voice cracked.
"Oh my God, Lisa, what did he do to you?"
She knelt beside her sister, tears streaming down her face. Tzuyu wrapped her arms around Sana and Jennie, trying to comfort them, but the sight of Lisa in such a state was too much.
Jennie was shaking, her face tear-streaked.
"I don't know what to do. She just-she came home like this. I tried to help her, but I... I don't know how to help,"
She said, her voice cracking with emotion.
Mrs. Chou, Tzuyu's mother, is a doctor who stepped in to assess Lisa's injuries. She didn't say much but gasped quietly when she saw the extent of the bruises, the cuts, the dried blood.
"Let me take care of her,"
Mrs. Chou said, her voice soft but professional. She started cleaning Lisa's wounds, and Jennie and Sana gently helped remove Lisa's blood-stained clothes.
Jennie winced as she saw the fresh bruises on Lisa's back, her thighs, her arms-places that hadn't been bruised before. Sana cried softly, biting her lip to keep from sobbing aloud.
Jennie stayed by her side the entire time, holding Lisa's hand tightly.
Finally, when the bandaging was done and Lisa was resting more comfortably, Sana stood.
"I want to stay, Jennie, I can help take care of her-"
"No,"
Jennie said softly but firmly.
"I'll take care of her. She needs me now... and I'll make sure she's okay. I promise."
Jennie's eyes were filled with determination, despite the tears.
Sana nodded slowly, trusting Jennie completely.
"If anything happens, call me, okay?"
She said, her voice still shaky.
"I will,"
Jennie promised.
Sana and Tzuyu left with Mrs. Chou, leaving Jennie alone with Lisa. The silence in the house was almost deafening after the chaos. Jennie sat beside Lisa, watching over her, her heart aching with every breath Lisa took.
Hours passed before Lisa stirred again, her eyelids fluttering open. She looked up at Jennie, who was still by her side, watching over her like a guardian.
"Hey,"
Lisa's voice was barely a whisper.
Jennie leaned down, brushing Lisa's hair back gently.
"Hey,"
She whispered back, her voice full of love and worry.
"You're okay. I'm here."
Lisa tried to move but winced in pain, her whole body aching.
"Hurts..."
She muttered.
"I know, baby,"
Jennie said softly, grabbing a glass of water and helping Lisa drink.
"Here, just a little bit."
Lisa took a sip, grimacing as she swallowed.
"I'm sorry,"
She said suddenly, her voice breaking.
