CHAPTER 14

"This is ridiculous! I’m done talking to you!" Jeongyeon threw her hands up in frustration.

"Fine! I didn’t want to talk to you in the first place!" Nayeon snapping back.

The tension finally erupts into a full-blown shouting match, with both of them too caught up in their anger to listen to reason. Their friends quickly step in, trying to separate the two before things get even more out of hand.

"That’s enough, both of you!" Jihyo stepped between them, her tone firm.

"Come on, Jeongyeon, take a walk or something. Cool off." Jisoo grabbed Jeongyeon’s arm, pulling her back.

"Nayeon unnie, just breathe, okay? This isn’t worth fighting over." Chaeyoung gently pushed Nayeon back.

Nayeon and Jeongyeon reluctantly allow themselves to be pulled apart, still glaring at each other. The bystanders, now thoroughly entertained, begin to disperse, though some are still chuckling at the absurdity of the situation.

"Whatever. Just keep your hands to yourself from now on."Nayeon huffing, turning away.

"Gladly, "Jeongyeon muttered under her breath.

The group finally manages to calm the situation down, though the atmosphere remains tense, Nayeon and Jeongyeon exchange one last glare, both silently fuming but also secretly embarrassed by how things escalated so quickly.

"Well, that went well… " Sana sighed, trying to lighten the mood.

" You two know how to make a first impression." Dahyun giggled, trying to diffuse the tension.

Jeongyeon and Nayeon both roll their eyes.

"Ugh, I still can’t believe that happened. Could today get any more embarrassing?"Jeongyeon rubbed her forehead.

"Don’t worry, Jeongyeon. Maybe next time, you can aim for a handshake instead of… you know." Lisa teasing.

"Please don’t remind me." Jeongyeon groaning.

As they are about to separate from the group of friends, Dahyun suddenly spots someone in the group, and her face lights up.

"Momo?" Dahyun excitedly.

The group turns to see Momo; Dahyun immediately goes toward her, and her friends trail behind her.

"Momo! What are you doing here?" Dahyun calling out.

"Babe! I didn’t expect to see you here!" Momo was surprised and happy.

Momo’s group of friends—Jennie, Irene, Chaeyoung, Rosé, Mina, and a still slightly irritated Nayeon—turn to see who Momo’s talking to. Dahyun rushes up to Momo, giving her a quick hug.

" What a coincidence! I was just here with my friends. (gestures behind her) Guys, this is my girlfriend, Momo! I was talking about." Dahyun beaming.

Lisa, Jeongyeon, Jisoo, Jihyo, and Sana approach, offering polite smiles. Momo turns to their group of friends.

" And these are my friends—Jennie, Irene, Chaeyoung, Rosé, Mina, and… (noticing Nayeon’s expression) Nayeon."Momo smiling.

There’s an awkward pause as everyone sizes each other up, and then suddenly, Jennie spots Lisa, who is standing the farthest among friends.

"Lisa? Hi." Jennie said in surprise.

"Jennie? Wow, what a small world!" Lisa was also surprised, just like Jennie.

Both groups exchange curious glances.

"You two know each other?" Sana raised an eyebrow.

"Oh, yeah, we’re new friends! Just met recently." Jennie replied.

"Yep," Lisa agreed with a forced smile.

" I am Jennie." Jennie introduced herself.

"Wait, Jennie, the crotch-kicking queen", Dahyun loudly stated.

"What?" Jennie asked, and her friends were smiling with amusement.

"She kicked you on the crotch, remember? Unnie," Tzuyu started, smirking.

"Yeah, and you were limping walsgsghsj" Lisa put her hand on jisoo who spilt all the beans.

"It's nothing", Lisa stated, embarrassed.

"Jennie you did that?" Irene asked almost laughing.

"It was an accident", Jennie stated with red cheeks.

"Ok if you say so," Rosé said.

"It's nice to meet you," Jisoo said.

"Well, I guess it’s nice to see you all getting along… unlike some people." Nayeon grumbling.

"I said, It really was an accident," Jeongyeon stated coldly.

"Yeah, yeah. Just don’t make it a habit." Nayeon rolled her eyes.

Everyone chuckles, the tension easing a bit.

Everyone politely exchanged greetings.
