Chapter 48: Good Move

Macy: "Speaking about the boys, how's Ivan handling things with the vandalism?"

Finch: "Eh, he's tugging along. The guy's a hard worker. I would say he's stubborn, but the guy's a lot more than that. You know, sometimes I wonder if he sees that car of his as a pet."

Jeanette: "You know, one animal I would love to own one day is a cabbit."

Finch almost spits out her drink after hearing that.

Macy: "You do realize that those are fictional."

Jeanette: "In 1845 a Scottish writer Joseph Trainer stumbled across a cat and rabbit hybrid on his visit on the Isle of Man."

Jodi: "I'll leave you to your theories."

Finch: "Yeah, if there's anything I've learned is that the unexpected can happen around here."

Jodi: "True that sister, I mean all these crazy disasters and no answer."

Finch: "I am sure the police are linking the vandals to this though."

Hopefully we can get though answers when the Banner gives us the paper.

At the Banner, everyone was wrapping things up.

Blasia: "Aw, wrong. You will find out."

Irma: "It shows their true character and how they really behave behind closed doors or in similar settings."

Barry: "Yeah yeah, that's true."

Jay: "Well, time for me to indulge in some shows with my spouse tonight. I'm sure hallmark has some enjoyable stuff for us both."

But speaking of Hallmark movies, Enzo and Trinity were getting riled up when one of the characters was cheating on his fiancee.

Enzo: "Cheating is cheating. Tell me that did not happen."

Trinity: "Oh it happened alright. And stuff like this ticks me off."

Enzo: "Well here's the thing about relationships. I see it as two people sharing the best years of their lives, making certain sacrifices for each other because they care for each other. I see it as two people working together as a team and looking out for each other."

Trinity: "Look I know she was struggling and all, but imagine if she had a partner, but was cheating on her and her best friend or her family members knew that the partner was cheating on her but never told her. If- well better yet, when she finds out about everything, I can guarantee you she'd be most heartbroken. Maybe worse!"

Enzo: "This exactly! I mean, people have emotions! They can feel!"

Trinity: "Testing yourself by cheating on your partner to make sure they are who you want to be with...where they do that at? Cuz I can't tell where they do that at cuz that makes no sense."

At another neighborhood. Beatrix and Maritza were watching Beyond Belief , looking very content with each other at the moment. (Real show by the way. Highly recommend you checking it out.)

Beatrix: "I've come to the conclusion that this is one of the best shows of this time. I mean even as an adult, I still get chills from some of the stories. Even though she of them are fiction and all."

Maritza: "Yeah, but it's crazy how some of them are like that."

As Maritza munches on some popcorn, the next episode was about to begin while Beatrix sips on some soda.

Maritza: "Sweet, here comes another one."

Beatrix: "Alright! This is gonna be epic."

While the intro plays after the host's announcement, the two were also having some girl talk.

Beatrix: "You know, I'm actually grateful to have you around."

Maritza: "Same here. I mean my friends see me as the tough one in the group but it's good that you along with my dad sees right through that and understand me."

Beatrix: "You know, it's always good to have friends around. You just never know when they can be around."

Hearing that reminds Maritza of Lucy, May, and Aaron Peterson. She was good friends with them but they were no longer around. And the possibility that her remains friends were most likely going to be next made her very worried. She knew she'd have to do some new plans.

Maritza: "Well, I'm going to make as many memories as I can."

Back at the Roth's house, Jay and Luanne were having their own debating on one of the movies they were watching.

Luanne: "Aden and Mackey shouldn't be together. Their relationship has the opposite progression, aka its regression. They don't even trust each other in a real way, Mackey keeps keeping secrets from Aden, it only became worse as time went on, now it's a pile of lies only getting bigger each time. They don't even feel like partners to me. And how can I root for them when their relationship dynamic has regressed so much? it's just not going well for these two."

Jay: "Couldn't have said it any better myself."

Just then the phone rings and Luanne answers it. Turns out it was Nicky. Their son was having a sleepover with Delroy and Ivan.

Lu: "I hope you all rest well tonight, you deserve it after everything."

Nicky: "Thank you Mom."

Lu: "And make sure you don't stay yup too late either."

Once Luanne finished the phone call, she returns to her husband and cuddles with him as he makes a goofy smile.

Jay: "I missed doing this. I hope we get more moments like this."

Luanne: "Yeah, well each time days like this happens I only wish for more. But lately this town has been feeling a lot weirder than usual. Actually abnormal."

Jay: "I don't want to say it's magic or anything, but the fact that these weird things has happened in this town several times is no coincidence. For a time I was starting to wonder if it is."

Luanne: "I'm sure there will be some explanation for that."

Jay: "Yeah, hopefully."

As the two resume cuddling, Jay had something else lingering in his mind.

Jay's (POV): "And hopefully noting sinister happens as time goes on."

Outside the house was the Enigma lurking in the bushes awaiting something important.
