"It would be wise if you surrender quietly before things get ugly, colonel Arcadios!" An old man yelled, but his voice was straining.
"Defense Minister Darton! What is the meaning of this?!"
"It's you that should be answering that question. Why are you here? You are aware revealing state secrets to outsiders is treason!"
"You're making a mistake! These people are not outsiders, they are an essential part of the Eclipse Project!"
"You do not have the authority to make such reckless decisions on your own, Colonel!"
"I won't allow your opposition to jeopardize the safety of our kingdom! Call off your men and end this ridiculousness immediately!"
"You are way out of line here! This plan of yours will alter history! Don't you realize you're putting our entire civilization at risk!? Now stand down!"
"What the hell are they talking about?" Natsu whispered.
"Sounds like not everyone is on board with this plan..." Lucy answered him.
"If they go back and change the past... the present and future will change as well!" Carla rationalized.
"Colonel Arcadios, you are under arrest for treason against the kingdom of Fiore! Take the celestial wizards into custody as well, they are accessories to this crime! Remove the other at once!"
"Yes sir!"
"But I haven't committed any crimes!" Lucy defended herself.
"I'm warning you, if you want her you're gonna have to go through me!" A ball of flames engulfed Natsu's fist as he prepared to fight.
"No, stop! You can't use magic here!" Arcadios warned, but the door with the golden sun already has started to glow a white light.
"What the hell is happening to me!?" Natsu yelled, looking like he was struggling.
"Did the colonel not inform you? The games are just a way to steal magic power. It is an extremely effective tool. In fact, if a wizard were to activate a spell this close to the device, the Eclipse will drain them of all their magic power." Darton explained over Natsu's screams, and then fell to the ground. "I hope you won't cause anymore trouble. After all, a wizard incapable of using magic is hardly a threat to a group of royal soldiers. I won't allow the Eclipse plan to proceed."
"Damn you, Darton!" Arcadios yelled, and the soldiers seized him, Lucy, and Yukino. Then they had escorted you, Wendy, Gray, Natsu, Gajeel and the three exceeds out of the palace.
"You bastards." Gajeel spat at them.
"Please, you must understand that it was never my intention to harm anyone. But there is simply too much at stake! However, I can offer you somewhat of an olive branch for your trouble."
"An olive branch...?" You murmured to yourself.
"I'll have you know that the Majesty is extremely fond of the Fairy Tail guild. If you can win the grand magic games, I can promise a private audience with him. The king is a rather kind-hearted man. Who knows, maybe you'd be able to persuade him into parting with your comrade. I wish you the best of luck."

Luna had been searching around for the hotel the Sabertooth guild was staying at, or anyone she had recognized from the guild. Thankfully for her, she had found the two mages she spoke with the night prior, Rufus and Orga.
The two of them were out on a walk, trying to clear their head from the events that had taken place with their master, Sting, Rogue, Frosch and Lector. They felt bad for Sting, and felt like it was an unjust punishment for putting up a good fight. But who were they to revolt? They weren't, they were also too afraid of the Master.
