Chapter 10: Eldest Miss, why are you blushing?
This was one of the most terrifying moments of social death Mu Xiaoxiao had ever experienced. She bit her lip nervously, stealing glances at Qin Yi, her heart pounding with fear.
Qin Yi's narrow eyes squinted slightly, locking onto Mu Xiaoxiao with a gaze sharp as a blade.
It was a level of awkwardness that couldn't possibly get worse.
In a desperate attempt to break the tension, Mu Xiaoxiao nudged the dirt with her foot, erasing the words she had scrawled earlier. She clapped her hands awkwardly and cleared her throat. "Are we heading out?"
Qin Yi didn't respond, still fixing her cold gaze on Mu Xiaoxiao.
What "Little Princess"?
What "Tsundere"?
Mu Xiaoxiao: "..."
Qin Yi stared until Mu Xiaoxiao finally lowered her head in defeat. Satisfied, Qin Yi adjusted her collar and gave the driver a subtle nod.
Mu Xiaoxiao: "..." How does she have such a commanding presence when she can't even stand up?
Once inside the car, the oppressive atmosphere lingered. Qin Yi sat quietly in the spacious backseat of the van, and Mu Xiaoxiao shrank into a corner, keeping a low profile.
The bodyguard, Liu Wannian, was young but strikingly handsome, with a delicate appearance that seemed at odds with his muscular build. He had rosy lips, white teeth, and a pair of playful, smiling eyes.
Having felt depressed in the Qin household for so long, Mu Xiaoxiao was in a lively mood now that they were outside. She tried to engage Liu Wannian in conversation, but he mostly listened without responding. That didn't bother her—she occasionally hummed along with the music playing in the car.
Qin Yi kept her eyes closed the entire time, unaffected by the noise.
Through the rearview mirror, Mu Xiaoxiao glanced at Qin Yi's aloof expression and sighed.
Still the same as before, not even a little improvement. She could at least throw something at me to make me shut up.
Having tried normal communication with Qin Yi and failed, Mu Xiaoxiao had switched strategies. Since normal communication didn't work, she decided to find another way and take initiative to provoke there eldest miss.
Looking out at the gloomy sky, Mu Xiaoxiao remarked, "Looks like it's going to rain."
No response.
"Huh, why's there a traffic jam at this hour? Doesn't anyone sleep?"
Still no response.
"Wow, we're off the highway. Are we going on an outing?"
Silence.
Clearly, Miss Qin wasn't easy to provoke.
Qin Yi seemed skilled at treating people like air, making Mu Xiaoxiao's shut up in frustration.
The drive stretched on, winding through mountain roads, when Mu Xiaoxiao suddenly realized where they were heading. She stiffened and turned to look at Qin Yi.
For the first time since leaving the house, Qin Yi opened her eyes, glanced at her, and signed:
[You shut up.]
Mu Xiaoxiao: "..."
As they were headed to the cemetery. The rain began to drizzle, accompanied by heavy, oppressive clouds.
