"Hungry?" Mu Xiaoxiao asked, rubbing her stomach as she glanced at Liu Wannian. The driver froze, terrified. How could Mu Xiaoxiao speak so casually while Qin Yi was fuming? Did she not fear being kicked out of the car?
Qin Yi's eyelid twitched.
Mu Xiaoxiao had gotten up early today and only had a quick bite for breakfast. She took out the beef brisket self-heating pot that Liu Wannian had bought at the highway service area and started getting busy. She opened the packed rice, tore open the water bag, and put it in.
While waiting, Mu Xiaoxiao drank a can of Red Bull and opened a sausage. She began to take her appetizer seriously. Soon, the self-heating pot was happily steaming, and the fragrant aroma wafted out.
Liu Wannian, driving in the front seat, instinctively swallowed his saliva.
Mu Xiaoxiao purposely lifted the lid, blew in Qin Yi's direction, and said, "Ah, it smells so good."
The depressed mood mixed with the scent quickly receded, and Qin Yi turned to look at Mu Xiaoxiao, gritting her teeth.
When Mu Xiaoxiao saw Qin Yi staring at her, her mood lifted. She immediately pushed her lunchbox toward Qin Yi in a playful manner.
"Do you want some?"
"Hey, eldest miss, why does your face look so bad? Are you angry at someone?"
"Ah, why are you rolling your eyes again? What's wrong? Tell me, and I'll help you solve it."
Liu Wannian felt like his life had been shaken. In his heart, he knelt before Mu Xiaoxiao. She was amazing—just incredible! After all these years coming to the Qin family, it was the first time he had seen the young lady's face turn green with anger.
Mu Xiaoxiao began her feast, indulging in an eating spree. After finishing the self-heating pot, she ate the sausage, and then opened a bag of broad beans. Her mouth was stuffed full, and she chomped loudly, making "chirping" noises like an annoying squirrel.
Qin Yi finally couldn't stand it anymore and exploded, raising her hand.
[Shut up.]
[Otherwise, get lost.]
Finally, Mu Xiaoxiao closed her mouth and, out of the corner of her eye, secretly glanced at Qin Yi.
Qin Yi stared at her, giving her a death glare.
It was quiet for a good ten minutes.
Mu Xiaoxiao glanced at Qin Yi. "Should I massage your legs? You've been sitting for so long, don't your legs hurt?"
Qin Yi looked at her with a blank expression.
Mu Xiaoxiao pouted, "Fine, I won't do it then."
She then pulled out another self-heating pot. Compared to her usual strong flavors, this one was relatively light—lotus root slices, broccoli, beans—visually much milder.
She even cleaned her hands, set up the self-heating pot, and conveniently made a cup of instant noodles. When they were near the service area, Mu Xiaoxiao looked at Liu Wannian in the front seat. "Let's stop at the next rest station."
Qin Yi looked at Mu Xiaoxiao with a cold smile. Who did she think she was? Liu Wannian had been with her for so many years, and he was famous in the Qin family for only listening to her. In the past, even Aunt Song didn't dare to give him orders casually. Was Mu Xiaoxiao just asking for trouble?
The eldest miss leaned back, crossed her arms, and adopted an expression as if she was preparing to watch a good show.
Liu Wannian in the front seat nodded, "Alright."
