Mu Xiaoxiao chuckled. What a resilient kid. Truly impressive.

She glanced around the room and was surprised to see the Young Miss sitting by the window, quietly gazing outside.

When their eyes met, Mu Xiaoxiao smiled and stepped closer. "How are you, Qiuqiu?"

Qiuqiu's eyes widened, and she covered her mouth in excitement. "Wow! Sister Song Ke!"

How long had it been since she last saw Song Ke?

Song Ke gave Qiuqiu a gentle smile and handed her a gift. "Look-your favorite Lego set."

"You remembered!" Qiuqiu happily accepted the gift. Although she didn't play with Legos as much as she used to, she still liked them.

"And you, Sis? Why didn't you bring me a gift?" Qiuqiu asked, pouting at Mu Xiaoxiao's empty hands.

Mu Xiaoxiao ruffled Qiuqiu's hair. "What gift? When you're better, I'll treat you to a big feast!"

Qiuqiu flashed a "V" sign, making everyone in the room laugh.

Before the surgery, the doctors needed to conduct several pre-operative checks, so everyone was asked to wait in the lounge.

They were "asked" because the Young Miss was there, and in this private hospital, everything was handled with extra care.

The lounge was far from ordinary-it had spacious sofas, cool air conditioning, a TV, and a table stocked with snacks and coffee.

Su Qiuyun, Qiuqiu's mom, still looked worried. She asked the doctors several questions and trembled as she signed the consent forms.

Seeing this, Mu Xiaoxiao hugged her mother. "Don't worry. The Young Miss said it's not a major surgery."

Mu Xiaoxiao had been anxious before, but Qin Yi had shown her the medical information in detail, which eased her mind. Modern medicine was highly advanced, and most illnesses were no longer a cause for panic.

Song Ke also comforted their mom with soft reassurances.

Qin Yi, sitting quietly by the window, noticed the scene. Her eyelashes fluttered slightly as she lowered her gaze.

There was a quiet harmony between Mu Xiaoxiao and Song Ke-a connection born from growing up together and relying on each other. Standing on either side of Su Qiuyun, they spoke in perfect sync.

The Young Miss suddenly felt a dull heaviness in her chest.

Fortunately, Mu Xiaoxiao's attention remained on her. She grabbed a few candies, walked over, and plopped down next to Qin Yi's wheelchair.

Liu Wannian, who had been standing by, immediately stepped aside when he saw the lady boss approach.

Mu Xiaoxiao peeled a lychee-flavored candy and popped it into her mouth. Then she peeled another. "Want some candy?" she asked Qin Yi.

Qin Yi ignored her.

Seeing no response, Mu Xiaoxiao ate the second candy herself, her cheeks puffed out like a chipmunk. "After Qiuqiu's surgery, I'll cook you something delicious tonight."

Qin Yi shot her a cold glance-As if I care.

Mu Xiaoxiao grinned and grabbed another candy, peeling it and holding it up to Qin Yi's mouth. "Come on, have a taste. Candy makes you feel better."

She could tell that Qin Yi seemed troubled, as if something was bothering her. If they were alone, she would have pressed Qin Yi for answers.

Meanwhile, Su Qiuyun and Song Ke sat quietly on the sofa, waiting for Qiuqiu's surgery. There weren't many people in the room, and it was hard not to notice the interaction between Qin Yi and Mu Xiaoxiao.
