She set down her chopsticks and left with Song Ke.

Qin Yi hadn't had much appetite either, she hardly spoke, staying mostly silent.

Su Qiuyun, while eating, smiled at her. "Thank you for everything today, dear."

Qin Yi shook her head, and Su Qiuyun smiled back. "It feels a bit stuffy in here. Why don't you take a break and get some fresh air? I'll also go to the restroom."

She stood up, put down her chopsticks, and gently patted Qin Yi on the shoulder. "I'll go take a look, don't worry."

Qin Yi: "..."

That single "don't worry" spoke volumes, it was clear that experience mattered. Su Qiuyun was the eldest here and the one who could see through everything.

After Mu Xiaoxiao and Song Ke finished in the bathroom and washed their hands, Song Ke pulled Mu Xiaoxiao aside. "Sis."

Mu Xiaoxiao looked up in confusion. "What's up? Do you need to go again?"

Song Ke: "..."

She was well aware of her sister's obliviousness when it came to feelings.

Song Ke bit her lip. "Are you really close with that Qin Yi sister?"

Her words were laced with careful probing, and Mu Xiaoxiao cheerfully nodded. "Yeah, we're very close." She thought for a moment, her lips involuntarily curling up like a parrot repeating itself. "Very close, very, very close."

Song Ke: "..."

Her heart felt as though it had been pierced.

With her eyes turning red, she lowered her head in a feigned manner and washed her hands again, softly asking, "You said she's your sister."

Mu Xiaoxiao stiffened, realizing that Keke had changed during her time abroad; she was no longer as endearing as she had been as a child.

Why bring that up now?

"Yeah, we just recognized each other a while ago."

Mu Xiaoxiao was distracted, she had noticed that the Young Miss barely touched her food, having only eaten a few lychee candies. She was likely not accustomed to the hospital food. Perhaps Qiuqiu wouldn't need anything for now. Maybe she should let Mom know that she'd head back to cook for her?

Song Ke looked into her eyes and softly asked, "So you're her little sister. What kind of sister relationship do you have? Is it like you and me, or more like you and Qiuqiu?"

Mu Xiaoxiao had just eaten and wasn't thinking quickly; she stared at Song Ke as if she were a fool. "Aren't you and Qiuqiu the same kind? What's wrong, Keke? Is the jet lag still messing with you?"

Unintentionally blunt words often hurt the most. Song Ke felt as if her heart had been pierced by a thousand arrows.

Su Qiuyun, already on her way from the bathroom, kept quiet, it wouldn't be appropriate for her to step in at this moment. Sometimes, matters like this were better resolved by the kids themselves.

Having spent a lifetime in the orphanage, Su Qiuyun was accustomed to such issues. Plus, Mu Xiaoxiao was exceptional, and it was natural for her to attract more admirers.

Of course, Keke was also very talented. If it weren't for Qin Yi, Su Qiuyun would have supported the two kids getting together.

But in this world, there was no such thing as "what if." Besides, without Qin Yi, wouldn't her own child still be spouting about being a "devoted single person"? She wouldn't fall for anyone else.
