You were sprawled across your bed, eyes glued to the TV as you munched on popcorn, remote in one hand. With all your important homework finished, you’d decided to unwind with your favorite show. Even though you’d seen these episodes a million times, they never got old.

Just as you were settling in, your phone unexpectedly rang, interrupting your relaxed state. You jumped, quickly pausing the TV, and grabbed the phone from your side table. A grin spread across your face when you saw the caller ID. Without hesitating, you answered.

“Hey Leo, what’s up?”

“Hey (Y/N), I was wondering if you’re free tonight,” his voice came through, casual but warm.

You glanced back at the paused screen, knowing your show could wait. “Yeah, I’m free. What’s up? You wanna hang out?”

“Actually,” Leonardo began, “I wanted to invite you to the lair where my brothers and I live. Want to come over?”

Your heart skipped a beat. “Of course, I’d love to!”

“Awesome,” Leo replied. “I’ll meet you at our usual spot, and then I’ll take you there.”

“Perfect. Is now good for you?” you asked, already standing up to get your ninja gear.

“Yeah, see you soon.”

“Alright, bye!” You hung up, a smile still lingering on your face. You quickly changed into your kunoichi attire, strapped your (WoC) to your belt, tucked your phone into your pocket, and pulled your mask over your face. With everything in place, you locked your bedroom door, jumped out of your window, and made your way to the meeting spot.

You watched as Leonardo lifted the manhole cover, your eyes widening with a mix of surprise and disbelief. You never imagined that Leo and his brothers lived beneath the city. But, thinking about it, it made sense. Being mutants, they had to avoid drawing attention, and what better place than the underground? Still, the sewer? It seemed a little... gross and uninviting. Was it safe down there?

“The sewer? Your lair is in the sewer?” You said, your voice laced with confusion and a hint of disgust.

Leo glanced at you, his usual calm demeanor still in place. “It’s fine, (Y/N). There’s nothing dangerous down here.” He shrugged and began climbing down the ladder.

You hesitated for a moment, but you trusted him completely. After a deep breath, you followed him, carefully placing your feet on each rung of the ladder. The smell wasn’t as bad as you thought it would be, though you couldn’t deny it was still a little unpleasant. You told yourself you’d get used to it. Besides, you’d been through worse, right?

Leo led the way through the dark, winding pathways of the underground, his voice guiding you as the two of you chatted. The further you went, the more you realized how well the place was set up. The tunnels may have been dark and rough, but it was clear that the turtles had made this their home.

After a few minutes, you reached an unexpected sight—an underground subway station, transformed into a cozy, unique living space. The walls were decorated with a combination of old subway signs and personal touches. This wasn’t what you had imagined at all.

“Here we are,” Leo said, hopping down a few stairs into the main living area.

You blinked, impressed by what you saw. “Leo, this is awesome. Never thought you could turn a subway station into a home,” you said, following his lead and joining him at the bottom of the stairs.
