You stood still, the darkness behind the blindfold both disorienting and unnerving. The unfamiliar technique stirred doubt in your mind, but you pushed those thoughts aside.

“Sensei, with all due respect... are you sure about this?” you asked hesitantly.

A soft chuckle escaped from Master Splinter, which only heightened your unease. “Yes, (Y/N), this training is designed specifically for you.”

Standing blindfolded in the center of the dojo, in front of everyone, was not what you had anticipated for today’s session.

“Uh, Sensei?” Michelangelo’s voice broke the tension. “If she’s blindfolded, how’s she supposed to see?”

“That,” Splinter replied calmly, “is precisely the point.”

You swallowed hard, feeling a lump rise in your throat.

“This exercise is meant to teach (Y/N) to rely on more than her eyes,” Splinter explained, his voice steady and deliberate. “It draws from a technique taught to the warriors of The Lotus Clan.”

The Lotus Clan. You searched your memory, trying to recall anything involving blindfolds during your training, but nothing came to mind.

Splinter continued, “All warriors of The Lotus Clan are trained to develop a particular skill—one that allows them to navigate and fight even in complete darkness. When the eyes are useless, this technique provides clarity. It enables them to sense everything around them, even in the most challenging of circumstances.”

“So... like a sixth sense?” you asked cautiously.

“Precisely,” Splinter confirmed.

From the sidelines, Donatello perked up. “Oh, it’s like that lesson you gave me about fighting without overthinking!”

“Correct,” Splinter acknowledged. “And for that reason, I want you to assist with this exercise, Donatello.”

Donnie hesitated but stood, positioning himself about two meters away from you. Even though your sight was gone, you could feel his presence.

“Donatello,” Splinter instructed, “I want you to attack (Y/N)—quietly. Make no sound.”

Donnie shifted uncomfortably. “Um... okay.” He didn’t like the idea of attacking you, blindfolded or not.

“(Y/N),” Splinter’s voice cut through the silence, calm but firm. “Prepare yourself. Respond when you feel the moment is right.”

You nodded, adopting a defensive stance. Your heartbeat quickened as the room fell into silence.

On the edge of the dojo, Leonardo, Raphael, and Michelangelo exchanged uneasy glances. Their faces betrayed their worry and confusion, but they remained silent, watching intently.

The quiet was thick, the room heavy with anticipation. You worked to calm your nerves, drawing in slow, deliberate breaths. With each exhale, you pushed away your doubts, focusing inward.

And then, something extraordinary happened.

You could feel it—a shift in your awareness. The world around you seemed to come alive in your mind. Though blindfolded, you could *see*. Every presence in the room became clear, every movement detectable, as though an unseen force guided your perception.

The sensation was overwhelming yet exhilarating. It was as if you had unlocked a part of yourself you never knew existed.

Donatello finally struck, swinging his staff in a sweeping motion. You sensed it coming and jumped to dodge. He quickly angled the staff to strike your side, but you moved just before the wooden weapon could even graze your clothing.
