The first man was fast—faster than most opponents you'd faced. He moved with precision, lunging at you with a knife in one hand and a practiced efficiency that marked him as a professional. But he underestimated you.
As he slashed at you, you sidestepped, your sharp reflexes putting you just out of reach. Your claws flexed instinctively, and with a swift, calculated swipe, you aimed for his arm. The blade missed you by mere inches as your claws raked across his sleeve, tearing fabric and drawing a hiss of pain.
He stumbled back, his free hand clutching his arm, but before you could capitalize on the opening, the second man charged. This one was bigger—built like a whole fucking brick wall with a brutish confidence to match. He carried a metal pipe, swinging it with enough force to make the air whistle.
You ducked just in time, the pipe crashing into the crate behind you and splintering the wood. Using your speed, you rolled to the side and leapt up, slashing at his side. He grunted, staggering but not going down.
The first man recovered quickly, pulling out a gun.
"Shit," you muttered, diving behind a stack of crates as the gunfire rang out. The sound echoed through the warehouse, the bullets sparking against the metal walls.
Pinned down, you took a moment to assess. The bigger guy was recovering from your slash, still wielding the pipe, while the first man was advancing with his gun.
Your sharp eyes caught a weak point—the first man's overconfidence. He was closing in too fast, assuming you were cornered.
Big mistake.
As he rounded the crates, you sprang forward, catching him off guard. Your claws flashed in the dim light, slashing at his wrist and forcing him to drop the gun with a cry of pain.
He swung wildly with his knife, but you caught his arm mid-swing, twisting it behind his back and slamming him into the nearest crate. The impact made him drop the knife, and you swept it out of reach with a kick.
Before you could finish him off, the bigger man came barreling toward you, pipe raised.
You dodged to the left, narrowly avoiding the swing. The pipe slammed into the floor with a deafening clang, cracking the concrete beneath it.
"Persistent," you muttered, circling him carefully.
He grinned, his expression cocky. "Gonna take more than a scratch to take me down."
You feigned a retreat, baiting him forward. He took the bait, lunging with a wild swing. At the last second, you ducked under his arm and lashed out with your claws, raking across his ribs.
He roared in pain, staggering back, but you didn't give him a chance to recover. Using your momentum, you leapt up, kicking him square in the chest. The force sent him crashing into a stack of crates, the wood collapsing around him.
With the intruders incapacitated, the fight was officially over. You stood in the middle of the warehouse, catching your breath as you scanned the area for any additional threats. The silence was heavy, broken only by the groans of the men you'd taken down.
The first man tried to recover, scrambling for his fallen gun, but you were faster. With a swift kick, you sent the weapon skidding across the floor and grabbed him by the collar, slamming him against the wall.
"Who sent you?" you asked, grabbing him by the collar, your claws glinting dangerously close to his throat.
He smirked, blood trickling from a cut on his lip. "You think I'm gonna tell you?"
"We'll see about that when you're with the higher-ups," you said coldly, your eyes narrowing.
His smirk wavered, but his defiance lingered. "They're not gonna stop. You know that, right? You're just a loose end."
"Then I guess it's a good thing I'm hard to tie up," you said, your patience running thin. With a swift motion, you slammed the side of your hand into his temple, knocking him out cold.
His body went limp, you let go of him and watch him slump to the ground
You then heard a low whistle from behind you, the sound echoing through the now quiet warehouse. Making you tense for a moment before the realizing it was wade who whistled
Logan chuckled, his sharp gaze meeting yours. "You handled it well. Didn't even need us."
"Exactly," you said pointedly, brushing the dust off your uniform. "Which is why you two should leave."
Wade's grin widened as he walked closer, twirling his katana before sliding it back into its sheath. "Leave? After all this excitement? Nah, I'm staying. Might even build a little nest in the corner, keep an eye on my favorite person."
"Out," you said firmly, crossing your arms as you stepped toward him.
Logan snorted, following behind Wade at a more leisurely pace. "He's got a point, though. You sure you don't want us hanging around? Could save you some trouble next time."
"There's not going to be a next time," you said, glaring at both of them. "I don't need backup, and I definitely don't need you two lurking around like a couple of—"
"Sexy bodyguards?" Wade offered, raising an eyebrow.
"Chaos magnets," you corrected, your voice sharp.
"Harsh," Wade muttered, though his grin never wavered.
Logan's smirk deepened as he leaned slightly closer. "Sure about that? Because it looks like you wouldn't mind some help."
You groaned, pinching the bridge of your nose. "You're absurd. Both of you."
"Love you too," Wade quipped, leaning against the doorframe with a dramatic sigh. "But if you insist on kicking us out again, we'll go. For now. But don't think you're getting rid of us for good, Y/n. We're like glitter—always showing up when you least expect it."
You grabbed Wade by the arm, steering him toward the door with a glare. "Out."
Logan followed without protest, though his smirk didn't fade. "Next time, just say please Makes it easier."
You shoved Wade out the door first, then gestured for Logan to follow. "Please and Thank you for leaving. Goodbye."
"See you soon," Logan said simply, stepping out into the night.
Before Wade could throw out one last quip, you slammed the door shut with a heavy sigh, leaning against it as the bond hummed faintly in the back of your mind.
For a moment, you let yourself enjoy the silence.
Then Wade's voice rang out from the other side of the door.
"See you tomorrow, Y/n! Don't miss us too much!"
You groaned, shaking your head as you turned back toward the warehouse. "Jesus christ."
