"The Wyldness should be up ahead, not much further." Lloyd explained, shaking his head quickly.
Nya pushed him back from the wheel, narrowing her eyes. "You look like you're about to pass out, let me handle it."
Opening his mouth to respond, Lloyd was interrupted by a bright flash. When did the lightning start? You hadn't felt it before.
The ship began to sway, more lightning surrounding everyone.
"This isn't natural for the Wyldness.. Right?!" Sora called up to WyldFyre. She backed up into the mast, trying to keep steady.
WyldFyre laughed nervously, shaking her head. "..No..?"
Well shit, because this wasn't natural at all.
Swearing, Nya let go of the wheel, glaring at her possibly injured hand. Too much was happening for you to see anyways. The wheel was spinning, the rudder uncontrolled now.
You hurried over to WyldFyre, making sure she was secured, weaving the fibers of her clothes into the ship just in case. She was the most likely to fall. Stumbling, you clawed at the deck, keeping yourself from falling off the edge.
Arin fell over the side of the ship, grabbing onto the railing. Sora grabbed him by the arms, trying to haul him back on. But the wind was too strong
A crate flew overhead, smashing into the mast. It cracked, beginning to fall. Right over where Arin and Sora were. Fuck.
Running at them, you dove for Sora, trying to grab a hold of Arin in the process, but the mast fell onto your arm. Flinching, you felt your arm go numb for a moment, pain shooting up your shoulder. Your nerves kicked in, releasing Arin.
You let go of him. Cradling Sora in your other arm, you put her down, waving her prosthetic into the side of the steps. "SHIT!" You screamed, hurrying over to the edge of the Plume. You didn't care about the pain in your arm. Arin was shouting as he fell.
And then Riyu jumped after him.
The ship rocked back, throwing you into the stump left behind from the mast. You heard Nya and Lloyd screaming. Then they got distant.
Pulling yourself through the wind, you watched them drop from the ship, falling.
Going to stand back up, you went to try to look where they would've landed when Kai tackled you back down, the ship beginning to spin out of control. He pressed too hard on your arm, causing you to wince. You felt your pant leg rip at the knee as you fell.
You held on tight to him, shutting your eyes as the Plume crashed into a cliff side, bouncing back and forth like a pinball. The ship seemed to settle. Before the rock beneath it broke of course.
Falling again, you and Kai dropped back onto the deck, thankfully the crunch of bone not being heard.
Taking a breath, you swallowed, throat dry. "Are we stable?" You let go of Kai, glancing around. You unwove Sora and WyldFyre from the wood.
"..Not really."
"No."
You glanced at the two girls, understanding the consensus. Fun.
"Right. We crashed in a canyon. We're like a seesaw. Perfect. Half of our team has fallen off and we have no fucking idea if they're even alive. Just what we needed!" You laughed, wobbling to your feet. Tripping over your own foot, you fell, the ruins of the Plume groaning in protest.
Sora pulled you back, eyes wide. "No sudden movements."
Running a hand through his hair, Kai took a breath. "Is everyone okay?"
