His question was met with grunts and grumbles. Not a no, but not a yes.

You nodded, glancing over to WyldFyre who had crept to the edge. "What do you see? And hand me that medbag next to your foot."

She tossed it to you, slowly leaning over the edge. "Uhm-.." swallowing, WyldFyre glanced back. "..A whole lot of nothingness..?"

Opening up the bag, you pulled out some wrap, running it around your arm. You had to deal with a bit of a sore arm. It could've been worse. You weren't going to complain when WyldFyre was right there with a broken leg.

"We need to get up there." Sora stated, rubbing dirt off of her face, pointing to the top of the cliff.

You frowned, looking at WyldFyre. "She can't climb." You pointed out, pointing to yourself. "I don't trust this arm to climb up all the way."

Kai grinned. "Well thank everything we got a climbing mech!" He moved to walk to it, the ship cracking. "..Or not."

Sora glanced around, and you could basically hear the gears turning. "We need to jump."

"WHAT?!" WyldFyre shouted before getting shushed. "What?!"

"We jump, the Plume tilts back, Kai can run forward to the mech." She explained, still looking worried.

But you didn't have anything better.

Agreeing with her, you stepped back, giving Kai room to run. "Make sure you don't land on that foot, kid." You muttered to WyldFyre.

Kai nodded, crouching low to run.

"Three.." Sora started.

"Two.."

Glancing back, Kai held a hand up. "Are we going on One or after One? Or are you going to say go?"

Damnit Kai.

"On go." Sora decided, prepping to jump. "Three, two.." she glanced around, making sure everyone was ready. "one.. GO!"

Leaping up, you hit back into the ship, which immediately began to tilt back, the feeling of zero-gravity back in your gut.

Kai ran forward, reaching for the mech. He slid back as the ship rapidly inclined, not being able to grab for it. "ASSHAT!" He shouted, the Plume tilting to the side.

You grabbed the girls, running opposite the drop. The ship tilted over, the mech falling off the side.

With what mix of adrenaline and energy you had left, you leapt over the railing, not getting caught under the ship. Free falling for just a moment, you made solidified air to fall onto, your chest shaking in pain.

WyldFyre and Sora stopped shouting, freezing as you hovered there.

Then the platform fizzled away. You quickly made a new one, shutting your eyes as you focused on keeping it there. You usually didn't have to hold them longer than a moment when fighting.

Holding your breath, you could hear your heartbeat in your ears, Sora and WyldFyre trying to catch their breath. Then you dropped again.

Smacking into another platform, you felt your head begin to run on overdrive, focusing entirely on keeping these kids alive. Chest tightening, you opened your eyes for a moment to check if they were doing okay. Your vision began to go spotty.

Below, Kai dove into his mech, a grapple shooting up the cliff beside you.

Releasing your breath, the platform disappeared again, and as hard as you tried to make another one, you couldn't. But Kai was going to save you all. You trusted him.
