Caroline and Melanie were walking through the woods, going to meet with Stefan after he texted Caroline.

"Alaric Saltzman killed my father?" Caroline asked after Melanie told her the whole story.

"I can't expect you to be okay with this. But at least these herbs that Bonnie's giving him, they're healing him and they're keeping the dark side buried." Melanie said.

"Yeah, and that's supposed to make everything okay?" Caroline questioned angrily.

Melanie grabbed her hand so Caroline would face her. She looked down at her with teary eyes.

"No, Caroline, it's not okay." Melanie started. "It's horrible and I feel horrible about it, but he's a victim of something supernatural, he didn't ask for this, it just happened to him." She explained.

"Just like Bonnie's mum, I mean, she didn't ask to become a vampire. And neither did Stefan or Tyler." She finished softly.

"Or me." Caroline said quietly and looked down to her feet.

"Or you, none of you asked for this, but who would I be if I just turned my back on any of you?" Melanie smiled.

Caroline moved to her side, wrapping her arm around the girl's shoulders and the two started to walk off.

"Oh, Melanie Campbell, saviour of the cursed and damned." Caroline said with a smile as Matt suddenly appeared.

"Hey. What's with the cryptic secret meeting text?" Matt asked.

Elena appeared as well from behind them. "I don't know. Stefan just said to meet here." She answered looking between the two girls.

Stefan and Damon showed up and the two looked at Melanie.

"What are you doing here?" Stefan asked with a frown.

"Thank you for the warm welcome." She bit back.

Stefan looked at Caroline for an answer. "What? I thought you just forgot to text her..." She muttered.

"Well, I guess it doesn't matter any longer." He sighed and looked around.

"Where's Bonnie?" He asked. "I texted her too." He said.

"Oh, so you texted anyone but me?" Melanie asked with narrowed eyes, looking at Matt for a second.

"Yes." Damon answered for Stefan.

Stefan rolled his eyes. "I just don't think you're gonna like this..." He muttered quietly.

"Why?" She asked but he didn't answer.

"Um." Caroline started. "Bonnie's mom bailed on her. Again. So I think we should leave her out of this one." She said with a thin smile.

"What are we doing here?" Matt asked, raising his voice.

"We found some more white oak. Long story, wait for the movie." Damon joked.

Melanie frowned. "Hang on. White oak? You have a weapon that can kill Klaus?" Elena asked.

"Nope." Stefan started. "We all have a weapon." He said as he threw down a duffle bag with white oak stakes in it.

He looked up at Melanie who looked down at the bag with a frightened expression.

"Elle..." He muttered softly. "You have to-" She cut him off by turning around and leaving the group.

The two Salvatores sped over to her, blocking her from leaving.

"You can't tell him, Elle." Stefan tried to convince her.
