"You two are up early." Melanie said as she walked into Klaus' kitchen to see him and Hayley already there.

"Good morning, sleeping beauty." Klaus said gently, leaving the counter to embrace her in a warm hug.

He kissed her forehead as she put her hand on his bare chest gently.

She pulled away and looked over his shoulder to Hayley. "How did you sleep?" She asked, nearing her.

"Fine." She said and looked up to Melanie. "Are you going to school?" She asked as Klaus got back to making breakfast.

Melanie looked down to her phone and smiled.

O: 6pm I'm coming to get you for our quality time.
M: Can't wait ;))))

She looked back up to Hayley. "Yeah, I don't really have anything better to do." She smiled and Hayley sighed.

"And... Caroline's making me come watch their cheer competition or something like that." She finished.

"Maybe keep me some company..." She muttered, looking to Klaus.

Melanie's smile widened slightly. "You'll be fine. He's not that bad." She assured when Klaus turned around to face them with a plate of pancakes in his hand.

She bumped Hayley's shoulder. "Told you." She smirked.

"Hello, pretty boy." Melanie said with a smile as she approached Stefan.

"Elle." He sighed in what sounded like relief.

His hand moved quickly around her waist, kissing the crown of her head gently before they started to walk together towards the school.

"So she turned it off." She sighed and he shook his head in disappointment.

"Yeah... Damon, he told her to. This sire bond..." He muttered.

She raised her eyebrows. "Well, now you don't have to worry about it anymore." She said and he frowned.

"What do you mean?" He asked.

"The sire bond works on emotions, feelings... Now she has none. It's broken." She explained simply.

His expression changed in realisation as they stopped in the hallway.

"You're right..." He whispered, looking down to his feet and rubbing his chin.

She lifted his head up to look at her. "Does it surprise you?" She smirked.

The two continued to walk down the hallway when they noticed Elena stretching.

"Hey, we need to talk." Stefan said after he approached her.

"And... I'm out." She muttered to him and was about to walk away when Elena grabbed her arm roughly.

"Do you need something?" Melanie asked, unbothered.

"Why don't you stay for a chit-chat? Scared I'll bite your little swan neck off?" She asked tilting her head to the side.

"I'm not afraid of you, Elena." She looked her up and down. "Don't flatter yourself." Melanie said in boredom and pulled her arm out of Elena's grip, walking away.

~

"Am I interrupting?" Melanie asked as she walked into Klaus' painting room to see him and Hayley standing close to each other, the latter with a drink in her hand.

The two turned their heads quickly towards her voice and Klaus moved back.

"Of course not, little swan." He said and Melanie narrowed her eyes.
