I finally left the library after what felt like hours. All the boys had already gone home, and I had stayed until late to finish my paper. If it wasn't for Changbin and Chan interrupting me earlier, I would have submitted this a long time ago already.

Ugh.

Night had already fallen, and the usually bustling streets were now relatively empty.

I put my hood over my head, plugged in my airpods, and started walking towards my place as 'Heavenly", by my favorite group CAS started playing in my ears. It was a 15 minutes walk from campus to my place, so not too long before I could slip under my blankets.

I had received a text from Chaewon earlier telling me not to wait for her, as she was over at Felix's, so it would be just me. It was already quite late though, so I would probably just shower and go to sleep.

But as I turned right onto the main street, a strange sensation settled in my chest. You know, that dreadful feeling you get when you think someone's watching you.

That one.

I glanced over my shoulder quickly, but there was no one to be seen, just the empty sidewalk and parked cars lining the street. I shook my head, trying to brush it off, exhaustion was probably making me imagine things. I was turning up the volume on my airpods, when I heard it.

A faint scuff of shoe against the pavement behind me.

My heart began to race, a cold sweat going down my spine. I quickened my pace, the sound of footsteps echoing behind me, even though I desperately tried to convince myself it was nothing. Just my imagination playing tricks...

But the footsteps grew louder, closer, and before I knew it, I felt a hand grab my arm, pulling me backwards and into a dimly lit alley.

I stumbled, not realizing immediately what was happening. My breath caught in my throat as I tried to pull away, but the grip tightened.

- Hey, where you going so fast, sweetheart? a voice slurred from behind me, the scent of alcohol filling my nostrils.

I grimaced, a sensation of disgust immediately filling my body, as I met the eyes of my aggressor. The man was in his 50's, wearing a baseball hat, and clothes that looked like they had not been washed in days.

- Let go of me! I shouted, twisting my arm desperately, trying to break free.

The man grinned, his face close... way too close. And his breath hot on my neck.

- Come on, don't be like that. We're just having a little fun...

I struggled harder, kicking out, in vain. I was too weak for him, and my heart was racing like crazy, my mind blank with fear. I could feel his hands start to roam, while I stood there, completely frozen, in a state of shock.

The moment his hands got close to the fabric of my skirt was when the adrenaline kicked in. With all the strength I had, I threw my elbow back into his stomach, catching him off guard. He grunted in pain, loosening his grip just enough for me to pull free. Realizing that might just be my only chance, I ran for my life the moment he stumbled backwards, escaping this dreadful alley and onto the road.

But I wasn't safe yet. I needed to find a place to hide, as I could already hear the man curse behind me, ready to make me regret what I just did. And so I started to run down the street. Most stores were closed at this time, so there really was no place for me to seek help or hide.

Well, besides one place.

It wasn't far. I could make it.

Despite the sharp pain I could feel on my ribs, I gave it all I had and sprinted towards the one place I knew I could be safe. When I finally made it, I rapidly took out my member card and unlocked the automatic door,  stumbling into the dance studio, panting heavily.
