The soft rays of the morning light filtered through the blinds, and I shifted lazily, my head resting against something... soft?
Wait, no. That wasn't my pillow.
My eyes shot open, and I sat up, groggy and disoriented.
My heart raced for a split second, but the confusion didn't last long. It took me a second to realize where I was.
Hyunjin's apartment.
Right. I had stayed after he had practically begged me to. But wait...
I FELL ASLEEP???
A quiet groan from beside me made me freeze, and I turned my head slowly.
Hyunjin was still asleep, sprawled out on the couch with an arm draped over his face, his chest rising and falling in steady breaths.
And that's when I noticed...
He had given me the blanket.
My stomach did this weird little flip, and I immediately scowled at myself.
No. Absolutely not.
No overthinking allowed.
Ew.
I needed to get out of here before he woke up and said something stupid.
Carefully, I swung my legs over the side of the couch, moving as quietly as possible. I could just slip out, go home, and pretend this never happened.
But, of course, the universe hated me.
Because just as I was standing up, the front door unlocked and...
- What the fuck.
There stood Changbin, gym bag slung over his shoulder. His eyes landed on me immediately, standing awkwardly in the middle of the living room, hair a mess, wearing last night's clothes.
I panicked.
- It's... it's not what it looks like.
Changbin blinked. Then his gaze flickered to Hyunjin, still passed out on the couch, looking way too peaceful for someone who had been a drunken mess last night.
A slow smirk spread across his face.
- Oh, this is good, he mused, dropping his bag. This is really good.
I groaned, already regretting all my life choices.
- Shut up.
He ignored me, stepping closer.
- So... you stayed the night, huh?
- Not like that! I whisper-yelled. He was wasted, like last time at Jackson's. I made sure he got home, and then- I gestured vaguely at the couch. I fell asleep. That's it.
That's the moment Hyunjin chose to come back to life. Letting out a quiet groan, he stretched slightly, mumbling something incoherent before cracking an eye open.
- What's with all the noise? he rasped.
I stiffened, while Changbin's grin only grew wider.
- Oh, nothing. He tilted his head at me. Just Y/n here sneaking out after her little sleepover.
Hyunjin blinked groggily. Then, his eyes widened slightly as he seemed to remember.
- Oh, he muttered. His gaze flicked to me. Oh!
I crossed my arms.
- You begged me to stay, by the way.
Changbin let out a loud laugh.
