Once Mordecai was able to unlock the next gate door over him, he entered in what seemed to be an abandoned playground that was spilt between two sides of the area, while the middle lane was left open for walking. As he quickly passes through the way and comes across an unmoved train up ahead.
There's the train!
As soon as I can get Poppy out of that weird lady's hands, I can make run for it and search for dad that way.
But right now, I have to finish the deal with this 'mommy long legs'.
That is...if she'll uphold her end of the bargain.
I doubt she'd want us to walk out alive that easily so I'll have to be smart with this one.
Mordecai thought while turning around and sees an intercom button with a note on top that says 'press me'.
As he slowly pushes the button and initiates the game.
"Welcome to the game station. I'm Stella and we got 3 super duper games to play. Where you can show us just how crazy, strong and smart you are. Follow mommy long legs down the stairs and we'll start playing musical memory. See you in a bit." The voice on the com announced before clicking off.
"That's it? I guess she just wanted to make a big show of it first." Mordecai mumbled while heading over to the room that says musical memory.
Of course, it wasn't a simple path to follow as he makes his way through an open hole and turns on the power of the area using the one hand in place.
"Oh cool. A hand making machine. That should help fix the GrabPack hand that I lost from that pink monster." Mordecai added on, impressed before following the coordination of the instructions using the button panel and various parts that he was able to locate around the machine.
Once everything was in order, he pressed the final button for authentication and grabbed one of the new hands that was all lined up out of the production roller.
Which was easily reattached to the arm part of the GrabPack.
Afterwards, he follows the remainder of the pathway and enters a more spacious room with a single lane and circular middle section as the only visible walking way of the area.
Once his feet reaches the middle part, the large tv screens around him turn on and introduces a closer look at the game itself.
"Welcome to musical memory. This advanced memory and cognitive recognition test is designed to stimulate several segments of the brain by allowing us to see how quickly and efficiently your brain works. A sequence of colors will be shown and you must recreate the exact sequence using the buttons around you. Bonzo will slowly lower towards you as the game progresses. When you complete a color pattern correctly, it will rise back up. But if you input a pattern incorrectly, Bonzo will lower back down at a faster rate. If he reaches you, the test is over. The test will become more difficult as it continues with longer patterns in quicker succession. That's all, good luck." The robotic intercom of game announces while Mordecai stretches out his limbs and waits for the game to start.
Okay....
You got this.
Mordecai thought while prepping for the round.
That was, until he hears a laughter and looks over to his right.
Before seeing mommy long legs watching him from the other side of the room.
"Aww isn't this amazing? Mommy hasn't seen the place up and running in years. Mommy can only imagine how excited Bonzo must be. It's been such a long time. Oh! That's the dinner bell. Good luck." Mommy long legs taunted while the sound of the cymbals played out from above as if it was ready to come get him, anyways.
Oh geez.
Is that thing going to keep watching me like this?
It's weird.
Sigh.
I better win this stupid thing.
For both of our sakes.
Mordecai thought in an annoyed sigh before focusing back to the game.
As many colorful buttons are brought all around the room.
With the colors red, blue, white, green, yellow, orange and violet arranged on every side of the circle to his near eyesight.
Once a particular color was represented on the screen, he watches the color in sync with several other colors following over the other and repeats the patterns one at a time.
It was a good thing that he has a remarkable unique memory with color patterns.
Because he would certainly need it in order to survive.
Of course, the patterns did get harder as the time and number of rounds pass by.
But that wasn't going to keep him from giving up as he continues the pattern in an easy victory.
That was....until the speed of the pattern built up in an unrecognizable rush of motion!
Placing Mordecai now in a frenzy panic!
Ah!
This is too much!
I can't finish this one!
It's too fast!
I-!
Mordecai thought, thinking that the game will be too difficult to play anymore.
Until he sees an unusual button with a white hazard triangle on it.
And takes a chance by pressing the button to see what will happen.
Luckily, it was an emergency escape button that no one has ever expected to exist.
Including Mommy long legs, whose disappointment has now lead her to hidden frustration beneath the pitchy voice that she continues to display in anger.
"Oh my....it broke. But since you were doing such a splendid job, mommy has decided to give you part of the code. Although mommy was hoping to make the game last a little longer." Mommy long legs spoke on in an odd tone before stretching her hand out over to Mordecai and hands him a piece of paper that had some of the code in it.
"Uh, thanks? Now about the rest of it...." Mordecai was going to say until he was interrupted by Mommy long leg's dark and deep change of voice.
"It's okay though....Mommy knows other ways to play with you." Mommy long legs spoke on while disappearing into the shadows before allowing another pathway to connect with the middle platform that he was on.
Well then... I guess I got my answer there.
Mordecai thought, with a 'really?' expression on his face as heads over to the next game in mind for the crazy, obsessed mascot.
Whack a Wuggy.
