The Last Vampire on Earth ?? | OC x Lestat | Interview with the Vampire

"How did you react when you heard the news?" I ask after a moment of silence

Daniel hides behind his computer as he types away.

He peaks around, allowing me to see his face, before he rolls his eyes and slides back behind his laptop screen.

"If you were expecting me to have some sort of big shock at the proposal then you will be disappointed" He says "Of course before now i had no idea how it came about, but when Louis told me it had happened i was a bit preoccupied on the events which followed" He finishes

I lightly smile, one of dread and anxiousness, at the realisation of how true his words are.

"Yes, i suppose so" I mutter "Louis first knowledge of our engagement was.... Affirming"

I clear my throat as i look away, even though Daniel isn't looking at me

"Unbenoust to Louis our party would be the last event he would attend as the person he knew to be... it would be the last anything before he changed-"

"Turned" Daniel says, cutting me off and making my head snap towards him "Before Louis turned"

I look from his eyes to the microphone which is recordeing out conversation. As much as i want to be mad at him for using the word i had been avoiding, i knew he had to clarify for his interview.

I settle on wordlessly nodding my head.

"We can take a break if you would like-" Daniel says after a moment of noticing the way i shifted in my seat

I quickly shake my head "No. I need this part over with... The night Louis turned was.... So full of emotions"

I start talking

"The night began on a high, Lestat had proposed to me mere moments before we stood together and invited our guests in. There was Percy- the lovely waiter i had met, our neighbours Mary and David and Caroline and Harold, there were two men i did not recognise but Lestat did and finally there was Louis..."

As Lestat shook the hands of two men i could tell where owners of expensive businesses the doorbell rang again.

I remember opening it with a smile on my face only to be hit with cold air and the sight of an all too familiar man.

"Louis" I breathed as i looked over him.

He stood with his cane and his fancy coat and i smiled in greeting

"Do come in" I said as he entered my home.

He placed his coat on the coat rack and rested his cane against the wall and all too soon he seemed to run out of things to do in order to distract from the obvious.

After a second he opened up his arms and i stepped inside.

We hugged for a second, a way of greeting that was common but felt foreign for the two of us to do.

We hadn't spoken since our night in the rain- the night where we confessed entirely too much to each other.

I took the opportunity, while we were stood close, to whisper to him

"Keep your wall up inside your mind, do not let others look inside" I said before i pulled away "If you think your concerns loud enough they may be heard by one's you do not wish to converse with"

He gave me a confused look before Lestat walked over

"Ah! Louis" He said as he threw his arms out and clamped his hands down on Louis's shoulders
