"After my argument with Lestat i wasn't sure what to do with myself.

But luckily for me... i didn't have to wait around for long."

Lestat was in the back passage, working on burning the bodies which he had encouraged Louis to drain the night before, i was in the sitting room- just staring at the space where the picture frame used to hang.

Suddenly, seemingly out of nowhere, the doorbell rang.

I sat straighter as the tune rang throughout our home. I stood and walked to the front door- unsure who could be waiting outside this early in the morning.

I opened the heavy front door only to find Louis. He was standing there, half burnt and screwing his eyes up at the pain

"Louis!" I said in shock "Come in, you will burn to death out there!"

He stumbled in the house as i helped him, my hand getting burnt by the sunlight in the process.

I cried out only for a second, more because i didn't expect the sensation then feeling its sting.

I shut the door as i turned to him.

"What happened to you?" I asked as i led him over to the couch

He kept heaving in breaths as he lay back on the couch, keeping his right arm slightly on his chest as it was burnt and peeling.

"My family... my sister-"He started amongst his cries of pain "My nephew... my baby nephew" He said

"Your baby nephew... what about him, what happened?" I asked

"I held him... i almost, i almost drained my baby nephew" He cried

I wasn't sure if his cries were because of the physical pain or the emotional pain, but either way my heart hurt for him.

"And then i left, but i was out too long, it started to grow light and I didn't know..." He pulled in breathes "I didn't know this would happen to us"

He held up his burnt arm as he gritted his teeth.

"Lestat didn't tell you?" I asked

He shook his head

"The bastard didn't tell me much, just told me to drain someone and then i left, unaware of the dangers i could get myself into" He said

I shook my head

"He's out around the back" I informed him "He might know that you're here-"

"I shouldn't have come" He suddenly said in shock and he tired to push himself up

I carefully placed him back down, putting my hands only on his intact skin, not wanting to harm him more.

"Louis this is the best place for you" I spoke in a kind, light tone "Lestat may be a complicated, selfish man... but he is a fierce protector of the people he loves" I reminded him

Louis lay back with a laugh

"He doesn't love us" He spat as he placed a hand on his head "And i certainly don't love him, he's ruined my life just because i gave into my desires and slept with him"

I looked down at the reminder

"And you-" He continued as he saw my reaction "He betrays you, he sleeps around and what do you get in return? A man who claims he loves you, claims that you are the centre of his universe yet he always puts himself first-"
