I walked into the kitchen where Liam stood, putting away our snacks from earlier. "Hello, my love!" Liam said, pecking my lips.
"Hi- ooh, it's cold down here," I said, rubbing my arms. Liam handed me my . "How's Zayn doing?" I asked as I put the long sweater on.
"He's doing fine. Went to lay down to go to sleep. He seemed pretty water logged."
"How unusual. He only swallowed a few gulps of pool water," I said sarcastically.
"I know, right?" Liam joked with me. I chuckled and ran my hands throw my blonde locks. Today as our last day with each other before the wedding was coming. We had booked our suite rooms earlier in the week for us to stay in for the next night before the wedding. And obviously, we can't see each other which pulls my hair.
Liam closed the fridge door and tossed me a water bottle. "Everyone's asleep or laying down. Wanna see something?" Liam asked me. I froze and lifted my eyebrow at Liam as my water was at my lips. Liam wiggled his eyebrows which caused me to choke. What the hell is he up to?
Liam laughed at me and grabbed a paper towel for me to wipe my face. "What are you planning on showing me and why did you wiggle your eyebrows like that?!" I asked him, wiping my mouth.
"It's outside, come on." I grabbed my water bottle and twisted the top on it. I took his hand and he lead me back to his room, closing the door.
"I thought you said it was outside?" I said, wondering why we came into his room.
"Come on!" I set my bottle down on his dresser and followed him to his window as opened it. Crawling through it, he set his feet on the roof of the house.
"Liam, what are you doing?" I asked him again.
"Jumping!" He joked. I glared at him. "Come on! You'll love it!" I sighed and set my foot on the window pane. Crawling through the open window, I took Liam's hand and set my feet down on the roof. He walked more onto the roof and I followed close behind when he sat down on a blanket in between two small windows that were from his attic.
I stared at the scene that was in front of me. A bowl of strawberries, marshmallows, and another small bowl of candy with a red wine bottle sitting against a basket with two wine glasses.
"Li, what is this?" I asked him.
"Something you deserve," he said with a grin. I gave him a soft smile. "After everything that has happened within these past few days, you needed a break away from it all. So, what's better than a little late night date on the roof of my childhood home." I laughed at how ridiculous that sounded. "So, Miss Kayla Kay, would you like to join me on this day that took 20 minutes to set up and attempting to not fall off the edge of the roof?" I chuckled again, hearing his words. What a doofus!
"I'd love to." I sat down next to him and made myself comfortable. "You really almost fell off this roof?" I asked, taking the glass from Liam.
"Yes. I would've died five times." I rolled my eyes at his exaggeration as we looked out at the rising moon was the coming up.
"That is beautiful," I said, setting my glass down.
"Know how it feels," Liam said, nudging his shoulder into me. I grinned and closed my eyes, trying not to blush.
"Stop!" I said. He chuckled. Liam laid his head on my shoulder and I leaned my head against his. "I can't believe we've gotten this far," I said after glancing at my engagement ring. I still look at this thing ten times a day. But how can you not! It's so beautiful!
"I know. It's been a long time coming," Liam commented. I hum in agreement. "Even though I put us both through hell," I snickered at that. "Who would have thought we'd get here."
"Not me!" I joked. He laughed and lifted his head, grabbing a strawberry. "You know, I had wanted us to be together forever." Liam turned and looked at me but didn't say anything. "I know, it's cheesy," I said. "After everything that's happened, the closer we got, the more I fell in love with you. I was wondering what would happen next."
"So, you've thought about family?" Liam asked me, putting the stem down. I nod and brush my hair behind my ear.
"Yeah, I guess so." I turn and look back at Liam. This topic came from no where. Was this too much?
"I have too," he said finally after the silence. "With you." My heart about jumped out of my chest. With the months we've been together, even after our engagement a few months ago, we haven't talked about family.
"Is that why you proposed?" I asked him.
"Well, yeah!" He said like it was obvious. "But the reason I did propose was because I'm in love with you. You already know it was four months before I asked you out finally that I loved you. It was the longest four months of my life might I add." I chuckled. "But seeing you in my future is what I want to become true. I wouldn't want anyone else there with me." I smiled at him.
"I love you Liam," I said. I crawled to him and hugged him tightly.
"I love you too," he said, kissing my head and rubbing my back. I fixed myself and laid my head on his chest as we watched the moon rise to the sky finally.
