"What?" I asked him, as he shut the door behind us.

"You know something." Newt tried to speak in a low toned, but soft voice so the others didn't hear. Newt stood with his back resting against the door behind him, as he crossed his arms over his chest.

"What makes you think that?" I questioned, as I crossed my arms over my own chest.

"Please, you always know something." Newt seemed to cock an eyebrow, as he tried to hold back a little smirk.

One of the corners of his lips seemed to curl up, as he waited for me to answer.

I mean, he wasn't wrong.

I always did know a little more than I let on.

I probably know too much for my own good.

"Newt, these people aren't who they say they are." I spoke at almost a whisper.

The expression on his face seemed to drop.

"Huh?" He asked me.

I couldn't tell if the tone of his voice was genuine concern with what I had said, or confusion.

"The people here, the workers, I think it's WICKED. The same people that put us in that maze. I mean, all that information they had on the computer about me, about all of us. They just know too much." I admitted.

Newt sighed, he ran his hands over his face.

"So this is what all this fuss is about? We got kicked from the dining hall all day... for this?" I couldn't tell if Newt was more annoyed or angry now.

"No, that's not all it. Do you think that I would make a deal out of that?" I asked him genuinely.

"I'd hope not." He seemed to huff out.

Does he not believe me?

"If you don't want to hear what I have to say, then why do you even bother asking me? Why did you pull me into this bathroom then?" I rolled my eyes.

I could feel myself growing more defensive by the second, as I watched his eyes bounce between the two of mine.

Newt seemed to pick at his lips, as he thought of what to say next.

"That it?" Newt mumbled out, as he took in slow breaths.

Oh.

I debated on telling him about last night.

About going with Aris and Thomas into the air ducts and seeing those workers cart in those 'alive but not really alive' kids that they pulled from the group...

But, by the stern gaze Newt had in his eyes, I decided against it.

He already looked like he was sitting on the fence about believing me on what I had just said prior, and I didn't think that opening the can of worms on the events of last night would help that feeling he had.

Besides, after getting thrown into our room for the day also didn't have Newt in the best mood already.

Last thing I wanted to do was start an argument with him.

"Yeah, that's it." I mumbled out.

Newt chewed on the inside of his cheek, as he let out a long sigh.

He paused for a moment, as if he was going to say something to me.

His mouth ajar for a moment, before he closed it   He shook his head, as he opened the door and walked out.

Ouch.

I took in a long deep breath of my own, before I followed him out.

Everyone was sitting around now, trying to keep themselves busy for the long... boring day we had a head of us.

It was hard to keep myself distracted from everything going on and Newt being in a terrible mood.

It didn't help that we couldn't see daylight.

Just a small room and the six of us.

...

"You two are going to wear a hole in the floor." Frypan said, as Thomas and I paced back and forth in the center of the room.

The two of us had been pacing back and forth now since we had finished dinner... which was over half an hour ago.

The other boys sat in various places in the room, bored out of their minds.

"Sorry, I can't help it." I spoke sincerely.

I felt like I was going stir crazy.

Newts eyes seemed to follow every step I took.

He didn't say anything. He just watched.

He wasn't just staring of course, as his hands rested over his lap comfortably, you could practically see his mind spinning behind his eyes.

He had something on his mind.

As my eyes met Newt's gaze, a loud bang sounded from under my bed.

And Aris came rolling out of the vent from underneath my bed, sweaty and out of breath.

Everyone stood up and stepped closer, as he rose to his feet.

"Hey, Thomas." Aris said, as he dusted himself off.

"You get it?" Thomas asked him.

"Yeah, I did." Aris smiled proudly as he held up one of the workers badges.

The ones that they use to unlock doors.

As my eyes bounced between the two of them, I knew what their little plan was.

They were going to sneak into that room where they were bringing those bodies.

I swallowed hard, as everyone else looked around at each other, trying to figure out what the hell was going on.

"Look, maybe I am being crazy about all of this... but I just gotta know." Thomas turned and told everyone.

The room went silent.

"You coming with?" Aris asked me.

I could feel Newt turn and look at me.

It felt like his eyes were burning through my skin, as he stepped forward as put his arm in front of me, before gently pulling me behind him.

"You guys go, you two are faster than me." I gave them the green light.

"Cover for me while I'm gone." Thomas said, right before the two of them began crawling into the vent.

Everyone else seemed to cross their arms in front of their chest, as they circled around me as they all stepped closer.

Oh here we fucking go.

"Everyone calm down." Newt said, as he fully stepped in front of me.
