Nani didn't know where he came from. He didn't know who his parents were, when they died—if they died. His childhood was a blur, a vast emptiness that stretched beyond his first memory. And that first memory wasn't of a home, or of warmth. It was of the academy.

He was twelve—at least, that's what they told him. A boy with no past, no identity, except for the name that somehow lingered in his mind. Nani.

The academy controlled everything. His days were filled with drills, lessons, and football—always football. They called him special. A rare kind. An Omega who didn't look or act like one. An anomaly. And with that came the academy's expectations, their demands. His body wasn't his own; it was a tool, honed and sharpened, exploited for the field. His heightened senses made him invincible—he reacted faster than anyone, saw things before they happened. While others moved in real-time, the world slowed down for him. And they used him for it. Over and over again.

On the other hand, his heightened sense didn't work all the time- making him pretty clumsy the other times. Again, sometimes, his senses made it hard for him to breathe, as he saw and heard and felt everything. He had been trained all his life to control it- but he still couldn't.

Football, the very thing that bound him, had also given him an escape. Bangkok University wanted him. Their football team wanted him. And the academy, always thinking of future profits, decided to let him go. He would still be under their control, but at least now, he could step into a world beyond the academy's walls. For the first time, he would see life as it truly was.

And he was more than ready.

He wasn't alone. Dew was with him.

Dew, his best friend. An Alpha. Raised in the academy like him, but not like him. Dew didn't have special abilities, so the restraints on him weren't as tight. He had more freedom, more choices. But despite that, Dew never left him behind. While everything else in Nani's life was uncertain, Dew remained his safe place.

And now, for the first time, they were stepping into a future neither of them had known before.

A future that would change everything.

The restaurant buzzed with energy, filled with new students celebrating their first night at Bangkok University. This was their welcome party—an introduction to their new lives.

Nani had chosen Literature as his major, while Dew, always gifted with painting, pursued Art. That meant Dew was at his own department's welcome party, leaving Nani alone. He hadn't wanted to come alone, but the curiosity of experiencing a real university party had won over Dew's warning not to go anywhere without him. So, Nani hid the truth and decided to come.

Seated on a bench, he observed the lively crowd when a girl approached him.

"Hey, you're an Alpha, right?" she asked, smiling.

Before he could answer, a senior's voice echoed through the restaurant.

"Alright, alright! Time for introductions! Let's start with the pretty girl in the corner."

Nani stiffened. He hated introductions—hated the moment when he had to state what he was. But there was no escaping it.

When his turn came, he stood up, scratching the back of his neck.

"I'm Nani. I got here with a sports scholarship... umm... and I'm an Omega."

Silence. Then, whispers.

"An Omega? In sports?"
"What sport can an Omega even play?"
"Now that you mention it... I thought he was too pretty for an Alpha. He does look kinda fragile."
