Remember what I said about knowing that I'd dream of Calypso?
Well, sure enough, she DID appear in my dream.
In my dream, I was on the island, but, something was off.
Things were weird around here, and I didn't know why.
"Calypso?" I called out, waiting for a response.
The trees seemed to be looking at me through emerald eyes, making fun of me as I frantically searched the island.
I heard faint music in the air, but there was no source in sight.
Just then, I saw an uncanny image of a shadowy man. He stared me down like I was some snack for him to devour.
When he started to chase me, I sprinted away from him at full speed, and guess who I ran into?
Calypso. She was a pale woman with brown hair and brown eyes, and when the shadowy man saw her, he stopped in his tracks and fled in the other direction.
"Who was that?" I asked her.
"Oh, that was a monster from your subconscious. Don't worry about him." Calypso replied.
I let myself relax in her arms a little, but then I quickly backed away.
I didn't want to creep her out the way I creeped out Penelope.
She looked at me for a split second, then turned to look at the sea.
I saw what was in her eyes.
Her eyes were filled with longing, but it wasn't for someone.
It was for something.
"Hey, are you okay?" I inquired.
"Heck no, I'm not! I want to get out of here, but I can't!" she sobbed.
"Well, did you have any companions?" I questioned.
"Sometimes, people wash up on my island, but they always have to go!" she complained.
"Hey, hey, hey. Don't worry. We'll find a way off this island together." I reassured her.
"Really?" she asked, her eyes filled with tears.
"Really." I responded.
And that was when I woke up.
