Spinning to your feet, you lifted your fists, glancing around. A quick breeze flew to your right, but.. it wasn't a breeze.

The stopped moving, and you could see them clearly.

You turned back around, staring at the red glasses the person wore.

"Turner?!" You called out, dropping your fists.

He froze, lifting his glasses up. "You're-.."

Did he seriously not recognize you?

He stared at you, eyes wide. "Y/n!? You look- different. Where did- these scars?" Staggering towards you, he scoffed. "It's been.. it's been awhile. Ow.. you punch hard."

"Yeah, dragon incident. It's good to see you too." You smiled, giving him a firm handshake. "Gosh- the rest of the team will be so happy to see you alive. Neuro, Tox, and Gravis are here too, there's a new Master of Shadows, and- and I'm rambling."

Rolling his eyes, he huffed. "Really? Couldn't tell." Sticking his tongue out, he started walking. "You're the first person I've seen, just woke up a bit ago. Stupid Roby with his stupid games.."

You raised a brow, hurrying to walk beside him. "I wouldn't call him stupid, he's just.. a lot, but we all are sometimes. C'mon, we gotta find blades for us. How were you so fast? I thought no one had powers."

He nodded, gazing around the trees. "Yup. I'm still fast even without powers, good genetics or something."

"Sooo.. what have you been doing during the Merge? I have been doing.. a lot. Was healing dragons for 3 years, then found Lloyd- oh Lloyd is my Yin now, that happened before the Merge, we might be getting married soon? Still unsure on that part.. but I mean- I'm not upset about that It's just.. Oh! We have two students Sora and Arin, basically our kids. You probably know that Nya got merged with the sea.. we got her back recently, Jay is still gone, so is Pixal.."

"Rambling, again." He chuckled, picking up a rock. He tossed it into the trees, pulling you behind a bush. "Shh. Gotta trap the prey. I've been living in the Desert of Doom, teaching my own students how to survive and live off the land. Now be quiet."

Biting your cheek, you peered out from behind the bush, waiting. "Is someone there?" You whispered.

He shook his head. "But hopefully soon if someone falls for my trap."

You hummed. "So you're playing dirty? We just woke up, and you're already resorting to traps? Can't you fight yourself?"

"You gotta survive. Can't play by the rules and not expect the same results as the rest." Turner responded, holding up a fist. "Shh. On my command."

Looking ahead again, you saw something through the tree line. Someone's here.

"Go."

Leaping forward, you rolled to brace your landing, standing on the other side of the person.

"Y/n!" Sora grinned, a blade grasped in her hands. "I'm so glad I found you first! Your reaction speed is crazy fast."

You froze, a grin spreading over your face.

Turner ran through the brush, frowning. "Y/n?! What's going on? Take the blade! It's just some pink haired kid."

Glancing to him, you raised a brow. "Turner, this is Sora, the Elemental Master of Technology. One of my students. Sora, this is Griffin Turner, Elemental Master of Speed. Old friend from the Tournament of Elements."

With a smile, Sora waved excitedly. "It's nice to meet you! Other than the whole not-death, death-battles. Obviously."

He nodded. "Right. So we have a whole group forming now? I don't think we have time for more people."
